Thanks. This is one of the most useful posts I've seen in regards to all this. I was wondering what happened with Refco although one guy said he only recovered 33% of his money after 2 years I think it was. Did you get your money from the SIPC? How long did it take and how much was involved? Thanks.

It's probably a matter of lots of customers, like some of us, pulling funds from their accounts. Also the stock tanked big time today on fears of their solvency, which of course they feel are baseless. But then there was the reality of BSC saying everything was fine only days before their total...

Thanks for sharing that but it seems they don't really know and are just speculating along with everyone else.

I'm with you guys and that's why I did it. But MAESTRO, who I really respect, in another thread, said his group has millions over there and he's not worried so that was reassuring. Just being cautious. :)

I know. But that's on my banks side of it. IB generally sends them out the same day by 18:00 EST. I'll check in and let you know if it goes through. Was going to do a wire but I hadn't created an instruction yet for the account I wanted it sent to so that would have delayed it several days...

I put in an ACH transfer to withdraw some funds yesterday afternoon and it hasn't been completed yet. It says "Processing". I'll let you know if it goes through later.

I was wondering about this too and posted this message earlier: "BTW, FWIW I just put in a request to withdraw $1,000 from my IB account. No big deal right? Well usually it says under status, "Pending". But today it says "Request Under Review". Ha. Maybe IB is worried about a run on their...
