Going to the GE shareholder meeting.

They had plenty of refreshments in the morning, I loaded up on carbs. (Stuff you would get in a big convention, fruits,pastries,coffee,etc..) But it felt like Century Village though I think the mean age was like 60+ I was waiting for someone to tell me to get off my lawn. Holy crap...

Going to the GE shareholder meeting.

Same old boiler plate stuff. nothing new. But I found the crowd reaction and makeup interesting though. Lots of stupid questions about crap like why did you cut the dividend, or CNBC should have more family values etc. primarily a gripefest. Folks were particularly pissed about a redneck...

Wow tough crowd. The crowd primarily consisted of old folks, lots of folks with canes etc.. Lots of GE retirees with like 50,000 shares etc.. pissed at the dividend cut etc.. They hate CNBC and feel it should be more like FOX. lots of anti obama talk, how GE is in bed with obama and using...

Silicon Valley Unemployment Rate Reaches Record 11% & Rising

A lot of white collar technical jobs have been shipped to india etc.. and more will come. We pretty much decimated our industrial workbase and the next leg is pretty much wiping out our technical white collar jobs. Why do you think all this bailout is about getting Americans more loans...

    rosetta stone

I own neither CROX or RST but there is a big difference between the two. I would not want to take a short position on RST. Only a fool would be dumb enough to try and short RST.

Why so much for only 2 days time value??

GE crossing 12.60 with decent volume. May 13 calls are strong. 14 pretty decent. Enough buyers to absorb these prices it seems. plenty of volume and OI on the 13,14 calls and less on the puts by a decent margin.

Great quotes 45 of 2895 icebergs looming, full speed ahead.

#1 Polaroid divested itself of all digital photography technology #2 Polaroid decided to focus on its core competency which is instant film. #3 They did not want to upset customers or shareholders by venturing to digital (no consumables to make profits on etc..) 2001 they declare...

Why The Bailouts Are Not Working

Bailouts do not work because the excess production/consumption occured due to the very easy access to loans that consumers used to make up for a wage deflation that has been going on for years. Cost of goods/services would increase and consumers had to leverage themselves in order to keep up...

Back in the day 2 of 340

http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,913752-1,00.html One day early last week, not quite 15 million shares changed hands on the New York Stock Exchange—a fair day. The Chicago Board Options Exchange also had a middling volume, equivalent to 5.1 million shares, or one-third of...

Why so much for only 2 days time value??

Would be funny if GE gets pinned one or two cents at the strike :) Volume on the underlying is low at those over 12 prices. Probably will see a few nice big red ticks.

Why so much for only 2 days time value??

Still, I would not buy those calls. I could care less what the model says. I guess they are betting on GE blowing out earnings and rising up like a rocket friday.

Why so much for only 2 days time value??

Why would someone pay 50 cents for the GE 12 strike call that expires this April when it only has like 2-4 pennies of intrinsic value? Someone just bought 111 contracts and paid 51 cents. With only 5 cents intrinsic value. The 12 put is worth 44 cents. Calls going at 50-51 cents

    Goldman Cuts Dividend

If it was not for Obama adding those strings attached which limited Exec bonuses they would have kept the TARP. But in reality they never needed it so now they will just sell stock and cut dividends so that Bonuses could be paid.
