    Covered Calls Questions

IT would be dumb for someone to exercise and throw away time value. IF you sell a call and it has 30 days of time value left selling it even if its ITM you threw away 30 days of time value. IF the dividend is less than the remaining time value and the option is ITM you most likely will not...

how are we going to get out of this mess.

Okay what will the US need to do to get out of this mess? The last long bull market was based on companies outsourcing goods/services, consumers borrowing and spending. (70% of US GDP is consumption) So what are we going to have to do to get the US back on track? The stock markets...

70% of the US GDP is americans importing foreign goods and services with borrowed money. Unless someone can convince me otherwise I do not see a positive outlook for our economy.

    We need a downtick rule.

Better yet. Just like buying a home/car. People have to buy insurance when they buy stocks. So make that a law as well. Imagine if all these folks had long put contracts in place when the markets crashed.

CNBC, and Media pundits pushing RE as an investment again.

http://www.cnbc.com/id/32329465 It looks like they are trying to re-inflate the bubble and get the suckers playing musical chairs again. I wonder if people will bite or are they too gunshy to go long housing 20:1 leverage expecting to flip it next week for 30% profits.

I know someone who took a second mortgage to put down for a preconstruction house in 2005 and in 06 it was done and he got an offer 15% above what he paid. I told him to sell "Bird in hand worth two in the bush" line and he ignored me. Told me he was gonna make it big and wait till he can...

Another bank failure, over 200 billion ISK

Ricdic's (estimated) 250 billion ISK embezzlement was compounded by another 380 billion ISK in defaulted loans. What wasn't understood at the time of the embezzlement was how badly the past mismanagement of EBANK, particularly in terms of financial reporting, had impacted the entity. After a...
