    Intraday INDU Signals

Difference of opinion. Not my trading style to buy short term tops. Look at the posted INDU chart. The time to buy was when the short term downtrend was broken at 14:35 by the 1 minute bar that shot through 8150.

    Intraday INDU Signals

It was not a good trade as it bought a short term top and the stop was raised to 8160 thus getting stopped out for minus 20 on INDU.

You can't trade INDU. Use YM or ES charts if you want to do something useful. BTW you were stopped out on your "trade".

    Best broker for the long-term?

A broker such as Charles Schwab or Fidelity would be best for holding a long term investment portfolio and not trading. If you don't do any trading IB will charge you $10 a month data fee and might eventually close your account. If you were also trading at IB then IB would be suitable for...

    Trading the Rollover

That is old information. The key is that it was pit traders and it was done in the 1980's and 1990's. If you weren't in the S&P or NYFE pit you couldn't work the spread.

    Two ISP's in one house

You can request that Verizon keep the copper connected. The problem is that if you have FIOS Verizon may refuse to give you a DSL connection on the copper or will stop supporting DSL from your CO in the near future. You would need a cable ISP for redundancy.

    Wall Street's Rigged Casino

I noticed that you did not provide me with the list of all the "solid businesses" that "have been naked shorted out of existence". Since naked shorting is against the rules, why aren't the rules enforced? How is it that the exchanges and the regulators cannot enforce their own rules? I am...

    Wall Street's Rigged Casino

"Many solid businesses have been naked shorted out of existence, leading to unemployment and destruction of wealth for millions of taxpayers." Total nonsense. How to short stocks?

OneChicago/David G. Downey Thank you for the detailed explanation on short sales, but I already understand all of what you said. I also know that borrowing shares from outside is more expensive than borrowing in house shares. As zdreg pointed out we are in a special situation because of...

    How to short stocks?

That only happens for traders that have used up all the cash in their account. If you are only short stocks that cash position cannot be negative because IB would have liquidated some or all of your short positons as soon as you hit the 30% margin limit. If you are long stocks on margin (in...

    How to short stocks?

Yes, I agree with you and understand that we have a special situation with current near zero interest rates. If IB has to borrow easily available stock from another broker then the customer has to pay a small daily fee. Under a normal interest rate situation an IB customer would be receiving...

    How to short stocks?

You have it completely backwards. The IB page you pointed to shows the calculation for the interest that IB PAYS you on your cash balances, not the interest that IB charges you. IB pays you interest on short sales cash proceeds, it does not charge you.
