    IB Comm for ES (unbundle)

Most futures brokers want to see some volume to give lower rates. 200 RTs a month isn't much volume. Interactive Brokers charges $4.70 RT for ES (first 300 sides = 150 RTs) Here are some lower cost futures brokers. Keep in mind that you may not like their platforms, data feeds or customer...

    IB Comm for ES (unbundle)

You left out the NFA fee of $0.01 for an unbundled ES total of $2.35 a side. If you daytrade you go unbundled. If you go overnight and trade less than 300 sides a month you go bundled. Or go to another futures broker with lower commissions to start with and no overnight carry charge.

Which futures firm do you use and why?

Here is the best list you can find: the CFTC financial data for FCMs http://www.cftc.gov/marketreports/financialdataforfcms/ If you want firms regulated by the CME look for CME under the DSRO column.

IB - Straighten out your f'in Bookkeeping!

That is not a SEC fee, it is the Securities and Commodities Exchanges data fee charge of $10 for not paying $30 in commissions. If the account is not active you would be better off moving it to another broker or put it in an IB advisor structure with an active account or accounts.

    Latest Broker Ratings...Is A Joke

How can you not expect people to respond when reviews full of nonsense about IB are posted? "They steal pennies" and "The Slippage Factor" reviews are full of nonsense. IB has never stolen any pennies or dollars from my account. I trade the ES using TWS and have no slippage problems...

    E-mini spread trading

ES at 1067.50, contract worth $53,375 YM at 10014, contract worth $50,070 For the 6.6% difference in contract value intraday spreaders just trade 1 to 1, not 5 ES to 6 YM. For position trading it would be 15 ES to 16 YM at current prices. Here is a CME writeup from 2008...

    Fast Internet outside colo?

Thanks for running the ping test. pingtest.net must be mapping your IP address wrong. The test does show that you have a very high quality, low latency line. For anyone who wants to do connection testing, DSLReports.com has a set of tests available at http://www.dslreports.com/tools

Pros and Cons: LLC vs S-Corp

Not quite correct. FICA tax has 2 parts. There is a income cap ($106,800 for 2010) on the Social Security Tax of 12.4%. There is no income cap on the Medicare tax of 2.9% .

    Niederhoffer In Trouble..... Again !!

Wrong. You quite obviously don't understand the tax laws. You can lose big money and have serious tax problems. If you owe big money and can't repay it and the loan is written off then the amount of the loan becomes taxable income. And you then owe big taxes on the big written off loan...

    Live data fees

That $0.99 per side is without exchange fees and can easily be beat. $0.99 per side amounts to $4.28 RT for ES. You can get $3.80 RT from futuresbroker.com and $3.30 RT from LightSpeed. The more trading capital the better as you will be losing it quickly.

IB removed SPX, etc from theier basic data subscription

IB is just passing along data fees that exchanges have started charging. Yes, it is annoying, but the monthly fee is minimal if you want the data. IB still offers a good data feed for free. Go look at what TradeStation charges for the same data...

    Live data fees

Most futures brokers that have a free platform do not charge for a live CME data feed. What do you consider very low commissions? There are a number of futures brokers that have all-in ES commissions for $4.00 or lower RT for low volume. The lowest all-in rate for low volume is $3.30 RT...

Is there a way to set a stop loss when writing naked options

Selling well out of the money puts and calls is called a strangle. The strangle has this nomenclature because that is what happens to you when you are wrong. Short strangles by their nature lead to a bad combination of small profits and large losses over time. You don't get pleasant suprises...
