Working 60 hours a week or working 2 hours a day?

you have a very valid concern. 95% of people dont make money. Even if you make money, you will make money say 9 months and will lose 3 months. It might be hard to lose 4k, 8k or 10k in a month, when comparatively you could be making 4k, 8k or 10k in your job without any risk. Society will ask...

    2012: The Battle for Survival

That was nasty but hilarious :D This is a great series of thread in showing how initial success doesn't mean anything. I realized Neke had problems when he posted his PF which was around 1.2. Can't sustain profitable trading over a long time doing options if your pf is so low. When vol...

    ES Journal - 2013

I agree. there is truth that buying over long periods of time gives better results and your drawdowns are much lesser. Having said above, I wonder how much ammo's performance will improve if he completely inverts his strategy and instead of being always selling, becomes always buying. I would...

I think we going to get a decent pullback here. 93 is swing high and we topped at 88.25. I say we correct to at least 79-80 overnight before continuing the march higher next week. If 93 has to be respected this week, tomorrow might just be a down day for a change.

Why is bloomberg so freaking fast?

HAHA. Yes, I was trying hard to not take him seriously, but finally I got enough of him. He has been trolling non-stop from Monday onwards. He ruined this thread as well. Btw, thanks for the link. I will read that thread - sounds interesting.

Why is bloomberg so freaking fast?

Other than creating nuissance and trolling, did your parents teach you to stick to the topic on hand? The topic here is what makes bbg so fast? Can you answer that please? If not, go away MORON.

I didn't have volume but i was watching T&S on IB and suddenly i saw 1k, 2k, 5k steams on the datafeed. If this was due to CBOE, I am not sure of the significance. but still we should correct for at least 2-3 points from here.

    CBOE Down

we did witnessed a massive volume spike at this instant. this volume spike could be due to CBOE just coming back online. It was not working from the morning. But seems it couldn't handle the load and has lapsed again.

Why is bloomberg so freaking fast?

My experience has been similar. Excellent service - but good to hear some other experience as well. coming back to the topic: so why is bbg so incredibly fast?

Why is bloomberg so freaking fast?

incredible. Thats the only thing I can say. a year and a half and those buggers didn't fix it. Can you please post a screenshot or a text file showing the difference between bbg datafeed and localized datafeed. I think if those guys haven't fixed this for 1.5 yrs, this discrepancy should be...

Why is bloomberg so freaking fast?

curious, when did this happen? Has this been corrected now. I would say if it was not a global problem and was a one-off incident localized to Japan, its forgivable. Just like all softwares have bugs, the market data team of bbg must be phucked it in this case.

Why is bloomberg so freaking fast?

You should ask them the rationale for this.

not sure if that old data is relevant. since volla in April has been higher than normal. It is certainly a possibility that price takes a stab at 91/92 by tomorrow. Though I would like price to correct since I am short :)

Why is bloomberg so freaking fast?

In terms of lines of codes, Bloomberg code base must be at least 10 or maybe like 50 times compared to a retail software say like Multicharts/Amibroker. But Bloomberg runs much faster than Multicharts. I am wondering - Why? How are the technologies that underpin Bloomberg different from the...
