Amibroker - Is it King of retail trading software??

Thanks! Thats a pretty strong recommendation from a long term user (10 years). Anyways, it will be really great to hear detailed direct comparative experiences from people who have used both Amibroker and other software, especially in terms of speed, performance, stability in a portfolio...

New ActiveX Excel trading program released by IB...

Alright thanks again for advice. Do you know or have a link at hand which gives situations under which IB recommends to use DDE instead of ActiveX? You responded both on marketcetera thread as well as here and you shared your experiences with both of them. It is clear you have already been...

MarketCetera - How good is it really?

Even read access to their forum requires some kind of login and password. So, before going that route, I thought I will ask for experiences on ET. So, thanks for sharing your experience. Lets see if we can get some more responses.

Amibroker - Is it King of retail trading software??

    1) TS, MC, Ninja etc. all these softwares look way overpriced when they are compared against Amibroker. Around 1500$ vs 300$. 2) TS, MC, Ninja etc. are not that user-friendly to scan hundreds of stocks and then trade them by forming a portfolio. Also, portfolio backtesting is clumsy and not...

MarketCetera - How good is it really?

At least the people behind this firm look impressive with engineering degrees from Stanford and some wall street experience. One guy worked for Jane street, also ex-director of electronic trading at a hedge fund. Does any one uses this software? Any experiences? How much would be monthly cost...

New ActiveX Excel trading program released by IB...

This seems like an interesting thread to bump. I have recently decided to move a lot of my trading to excel environment and would appreciate any inputs on different excel technologies that IB supports (DDE vs ActiveX). Especially, stability, performance, number of tickers that can...

    Exporting Multiple Instruments from Multicharts

Continuing my rant..... So after being confounded by many such problems and always having to do a workaround or bow down before vendor giving him a good job down there so that he obliges and implements a basic standard functionality that you expect in a software, I have finally decided to do...

    Exporting Multiple Instruments from Multicharts

Did anyone found a solution to this problem?? Ranting a bit on Friday evening, but frankly this is the problem with non-custom trading software that is available on the market today. If you are noob, the glittery marketing impresses you and pulls you in. However, as you become an advanced...

I agree not a great thread. Its just pictures, very low quality marketing pitch and devoid of any deep discussion.

    ES Journal - 2013

very good question. In my experience, yes saturday and sunday will count as a 2 day break. In my experience, weekends allow me to recharge my batteries, allow me time to gain perspective, since always trading many a times sets up tunnel vision.

i am running about -7 currently. And whatever my conviction level, surely its not a pleasant thing to go over the weekend with full position 7 handles against you.

    ES Journal - 2013

i think you have gotten stopped like what say 7-8 times in last 2-3 days? Everytime losing 4 points is like losing 30 points. One thing I learnt was that once I get stopped 3-5 times in close succession (like within 2 days or so), I don't reenter. It means: 1) either i am not trading well...

    ES Journal - 2013

I actually thought after posting if i am went over-board in my writing :D I can easily be very confident and still be wrong on at least 25% of trades. That still means on very confident trades, I am talking about 75% win percentage which is great in my eyes. So, yes if anyone gets influenced...

    ES Journal - 2013

I have roughly 2k on risk on this trade. I must add however that being opex, the down side move might get supported by players. On general days, i think by now we should have broken to the downside. But being opex, the dynamics are different. For me, anyways the rationale is simple. We are...
