Thanks for writing about your discovery process. I am still new to ES - only 2/3 months of ES trading. So, it seems I am still new to this instrument.

Good illustration Josh! Indeed it broke 56.75 and went to 57.5. So, getting long around 57 when it was coming back from 55.25, would have given 1/1.5 point scalp. Thanks!

Thanks for your insights once again ! I find merit in the point about trading from home vs an office. Being close to other traders will definitely mean greater idea generation, reduced dumb mistakes and competing viewpoints on a particular trade. I trade Euro a lot, and I make money...

unfortunately, I don't have a consistently profitable set-up on ES yet. At least I haven't found one yet. How many months/years did it take you B to find a consistent trading strategy/setup for ES? Curious. To be honest I am consistently unprofitable trading ES !! Planning to do a...

Thanks Josh for your insight. Very well put - I must say. However, the key thing that your theory doesn't answer is why 4 o clock break ? I mean I was personally long from 2 pm and closed it finally in exasperation at 3:51 pm, since we just couldn't break 49.5. And it broke exactly at 4pm...

Your guess will get my vote for the best answer. Vote for 2nd best answer goes to ammo for uvol/dvol blow-out on trend days. Just that it should have happened before 4, maybe around 3:55 or so. But the level got broken immediately after cash stopped trading, and thats why I think you have nailed...

For all the trades of ES who know it better than myself, why the hell it finally broke 49.5 exactly at 4 o clock after cash stopped trading ? What was it that caused 49.5 to remain the daily high from last 4 hours even when price spent around 30-40 minutes within one point of it during the...

Btw after the rumor that a rating agency is going to downgrade Belgium that day, it was summarily rejected and denied by the Fitch analyst responsible for rating Sovereign Europe. And after 1.5 hours, Fitch downgraded Belgium. Probably, the poor guy was terrified of an impending insider...

Satchel, where do you trade - home/prop office or some other place ? Trying to figure out where do you get your daily dose of rumors, which turn out to be generally correct :)

Markets didnt move an inch after Fitch cut Hungary, so if this is not Germany/France/Swiss, no need to change your trading plan...what do you say !
