    Dubai effect starting to spread

In case you weren't paying attention to the markets reaction on Friday it went something like this...."Oh Fuc....err...whatever." The market didn't particularly care and if the market doesn't care then why should we care? Dubai could fall into the Gulf and the world will move along just...

Why we will ultimately nationalize the banking system

As long as the US can issue debt there is no fear of a banking system collapse. When the US can no longer issue debt look out. Until then....the party is on!

    Starting/Working for a Hedge Fund

I agree and disagree. Close stops will kill you over time but I gotta have a disaster stop. I typically keep my stops 5-10 points away from the market depending on the level of volatility but I rarely lose money by having my stops triggered. I take the loss manually most of the time.

    Question about CPO

You can trade whatever you want. The thing you need to be most concerned about is whether you need to register as an investment advisor. If you exceed $400k or 15 people then yes, you need to register with the NFA. If you manage for anyone in California you have to register in that state...

If there's deflation, what happens to gold?

The price of Gold has nothing to do with supply or demand, or deflation or inflation. Rather, it has everything to do with the loss of confidence in the dollar. At approximately $4,000 per ounce Gold becomes a real currency because the high price solves the limited supply issue. The higher it...

Democrats now officially pushing transaction tax according to Erin Burnet

That's right. Pretty soon they will be taxing you to flush the toilet and people will be shitting in the streets. England had a tax on the number of windows you had in your house. People literally bricked up their windows to avoid the tax. The US is heading down this road. I'm gonna laugh...

Democrats now officially pushing transaction tax according to Erin Burnet

"If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our Founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer." Change you can believe in. <object width="425"...

Democrats now officially pushing transaction tax according to Erin Burnet

Yep. This tax will drive the spread back to the date of fractions. The smallest spread you will see will probably be 1/8th, or 12 or 13 cents. Back to the stone age we go. <font color = "red"><b> Change you can believe in.</font color></b>

Democrats now officially pushing transaction tax according to Erin Burnet

Contrary to popular belief price discovery is <b>not</b> dependent on volume. Think back to the era before the internet. Did stocks crash because of a lack of volume? Time to brush on the resume folks. The game we have come to love and enjoy is about to end. It's truly sad to see such a...

What Is The Dollar Worth ?

The thing that backs any fiat currency is the Government's ability to collect taxes and the citizen's willingness and ability to work. All a dollar bill represents is a receipt for work performed. This is one of the things that people have used to challenge the income tax code. If a receipt...

    The General Electric superfraud

Welch's mantra was, "Deliver at all costs." And deliver he did. Immelt delivered as well but when the deck ran dry they couldn't shuffle. There's no doubt GE is an economic powerhouse but when a company is able to "deliver at all costs" there can only be some slight of hand. Companies like...

    The General Electric superfraud

Completely agree. It's not just GE that relies heavily on the CP markets to conduct their operations. You could probably say the entire S&P needs it to function. It's very troubling however, that the use of the CP markets allows financial giants to manufacture earnings and especially...

The Foreigners Do Not Have It Either

Precisely what is going on. The Fed is both the issuer and buyer of Government debt. Ringling Brothers would be proud to call this circus trick their own.

    The General Electric superfraud

I'm not an expert on GE's financials but I do know that they "create" earnings through shifting money from their financial division to the manufacturing divisions through the commercial paper markets. If the Government hadn't stepped in and guaranteed the commercial paper markets last year GE...
