The Apocalyptic Depression of the 21st century

If you study the evolution of modern economics and currencies you will quickly realize it is assured Gold will not become a currency, short of something unexpected like a coast to coast meltdown of all the nuclear reactors in the US.

Just lost 5% of my account...

No doubt about it. And there's a reason why I'm "the1." If you think you are going to be successful you might just be successful. If you think you're gonna fail you absolutely will fail.

    Financial Transaction Tax on Options

This isn't as bad as it could be on futures but it will still kill volume in these markets. At this rate, you would have to make a full point just to break even. Assuming $40 RT + $5+ in commish you need 1 point to be ahead by $5. That pretty much increases the slippage (for lack of a better...

Gold still far from 1980 peak

good point. The Nasdaq will look like the $NIKK for some time to come. Gold is going through what the NIKK, NAS, and OIL went through -- they call it a bubble. But that don't mean it ain't going higher

Gold will never go below $1,200 per oz again.

I'm long gold and selling to exit but I wouldn't go short. I do believe it is near a top though. Someone else can pick it

    Goldman sees rather strong 2010-11

Precisely! Every candidate that gets paraded before us comes from Washington DC. You don't get to choose from anyone that doesn't come from the "system."

    Goldman sees rather strong 2010-11

This is comical! Goldman says the economy will expand 4.4% in 2010.... Ummm....perhaps "expected to, should, likely to, etc." would be better word choice? Shit, maybe these guys actually are doing "God's work." I guess they got a direct link to the heavens for their forecasting data?

Why can't I get a job? Recent Grad, 3.7 GPA, Good Exp, Year and a half of searching..

You are sooooo not alone. I know so many people who can't find jobs. I got uncles in the trades who have been out of work since 2007 with no chances of landing a job anytime soon. What are two certainties in life? Correct, death and taxes. You already got a business degree. Now go get...

    Proposed new WAR TAX

What the US Military doesn't seem to get - or maybe they do - is war in the Middle East is a way of life. Wars in Western Countries are viewed as a temporary thing but in the Middle East they are born to wage war and will never stop waging war. The war on terror is not a winnable war.

Reporter Who Challenged Fed Secrecy, Dies at 52

Don't forget Honest Abe. Oh, and the 2 attempts on Andrew Jackson's life. Cross the Fed and you're dead.

The bankruptcy of the United States is now certain

Things are so bad in the US the IRS is accepting charitable, tax-deductible donations to help pay down the debt. They actually received $3.1M in 2009. The IRS is now a charity case. http://money.cnn.com/2009/11/11/news/economy/national_debt/

Increasing Foreclosures is a bullish sign.

Foreclosures are increasing because people who bought a house responsibly are now getting caught in the net because they have lost their jobs through no fault of their own. The Sub-Prime, over-leveraged borrower has already been flushed out. Now the Prime borrower is feeling the pinch because...

    Soliciting Friends & Family

Ha ha, that's funny. Your statement proves you know nothing about managing money because once you start managing for friends and family the psychological dynamics of trading change 20-fold. You simply can't appreciate how much it changes until you actually find yourself in that groove. I've...

    incubator

Do you currently have any interested investors? If no, an incubator fund is necessary. If yes, an incubator fund is not necessary. The only time you need to do one is if you don't have any funds to currently trade. Green & Co is probably one of the cheapest (and they definitely ain't...

    Soliciting Friends & Family

If you are working with people you already have a business or personal relationship with then there is no worries soliciting them. You get into trouble when you solicit clients you don't already know. And I agree with TraderZones, trading family and friends funds is a huge mistake.

    Don't mess with the FED

Yes they will. They will take their suitcases of money and up and leave. The Federal Reserve System is built for perpetual expansion of the supply of money and if that supply disappears the US will go POOF! Congress better have one hell of a quick replacement if an audit ever gets traction...
