Placing the Blame as Students Are Buried in Debt

Absofuckinglutely! I have a master's in Computational Finance from a University that claims to offer a program that competes with a Tier I school. The entrance requirements were about the same so maybe the program does rank up there. Aside from that point, I probably use 2% of what I learned...

Here's your chance to show how smart you are

And if window dressing does exist wouldn't it be safe to assume that dog dumping exists too? Managers buy the best performers before the end of the month and sell the worst. Wouldn't that cancel out the window dressing effect? Add in all the traders who trigger for other reasons or no reasons...

Here's your chance to show how smart you are

I'd say it was randomness. The more you study patterns like you suggest -- and believe me I have -- the more you realize they don't exist. The market isn't perfectly random but it's a hell of a lot more random than traders think. Chalk today (and yesterday for that matter) up to randomness.

Faber: Nations Will Print Money, Go Bust, Go to War…We Are Doomed

I guess we're getting a little off topic but what the heck... it's very difficult to forecast how new technology will affect the workforce. In the past, it's been proven that technology creates jobs rather than replacing jobs and operations become more efficient. The world will still need...

Faber: Nations Will Print Money, Go Bust, Go to War…We Are Doomed

There is one wild card that may or may not happen. Keep in mind we are still knee deep in a technological revolution that probably smoothers the positive economic impact from the Industrial Revolution. I say "probably" because I'm not educated enough to express an opinion on the topic but as a...

Faber: Nations Will Print Money, Go Bust, Go to War…We Are Doomed

This may work in the short run but probably not in the long run. If you have 100k in your hands you spend, thereby creating demand and short run inflation but this type of "gift" can't be created without creating debt. Remember, money is debt and debt accrues interest and has to be repaid...

The Vulcan Report - Documenting the Economic Collapse of the entire global system.

And just to think....you were being called delusional only a few short months ago. As usual the bankers are trying to solve a massive expansion in the money supply with more money. A credit card to pay a credit card -- LOL. If it don't work for the consumer it won't work for a country. No...

    Blowing up a margin account

This is not necessarily true. What if the stock he shorted came from shares <b>you</b> own, not the inventory the broker owns? In the OP's situation, the broker absolutely, positively come after him for the 30k.

DEFCON 2 declared - economic armageddon is coming

I agree that some sort of revolution is coming. You can feel the pent up anger. It's going to take something like a 20% cut in social security payments and an increase to something like 70 years old before you can retire. Government employees will be hit first. I'm actually surprised there...

DEFCON 2 declared - economic armageddon is coming

The only thing that's going to happen with this is the standard of living for everyone across the globe is going to decline. Countries are actually going to have to work with a balanced budged and stop creating money out of thin air at alarming rates and devaluing their currency. Social...

    help my computer is infected

I've used this in the past but you gotta know what you're doing to use this tool. You can mess up your machine even worse if you don't have a clue. I'm no computer pro but I managed to get through it and it worked great. What I would try first is use another computer and go to...

Greece Considering Legal Action Against U.S. Banks for Crisis

Good question indeed. My buddy fell on hard times because of the recession. Fortunately, he was able to get on the state insurance plan because he has kids. Good thing because he came down with gall stones and pancreatitis. Goes to the hospital, gets fixed up including a surgery. Comes home...

Greece Considering Legal Action Against U.S. Banks for Crisis

Goldman Sachs helped the Greek government to mask the true extent of its deficit with the help of a derivatives deal that legally circumvented the EU Maastricht deficit rules. At some point the so-called cross currency swaps will mature, and swell the country's already bloated deficit...

Correct, with this exemption the NFA will allow you to fly below the radar but they want to know you are flying below the radar. I don't recall the exact form I had to file but if you search the NFA site you should find it. If not, a quick phone call will get you the answer. Beginning on...
