How to avoid being one of the 90% of small traders lose

Anyone who thinks they can consistently predict a 10 point move on the ES (unless they have an inside track) is someone who doesn't know trading very well. EMG is correct. If you trade at a firm your odds of lasting go from 5% to 50%. Wanna know why? Because it's very, very political. If...

How to avoid being one of the 90% of small traders lose

This is actually good advice emg! This is precisely what I did. All I ever wanted to do was trade but I was laughed at with my undergrad degree in vanilla finance (business). I applied to a school that legitimate firms recruit from and completed a Masters in Computational Finance --->>>...

Fisher just admitted price of oil higher becuase of specs

EMR! LOL. I don't think I've ever seen you get so pissed off. At least you calmed down toward the end. Hey, those who understand capitalism use it to their advantage. Those who don't whine about it or put their hand out. There's an easy friggin way NOT to pay more at the pump. Buy blasted...

    My DAYTRADER story

Barriers to entry are pretty much identical. If you got 5 grand and a few tools you're good to go. It's staying in the market that requires the craft. The niche in this business is doing high quality work you can hang your hat on. Put two carpenters on the same crown molding mitre and...

    My DAYTRADER story

It's an unhealthy life even if you're profitable. I've been doing this for 22 years -- not all profitable, of course -- and if I had a chance to turn back the clock and do something differenet I'd do it in a heartbeat. This business has ruined my eyes, my back, and my ass (I'm guessing I don't...

Debt limit hit, why not just default?

A default doesn't necessarily clean the slate. Defaults are frequent throughout history. The empire either crumbles or the payments are simply delayed -- with more interest. And should a complete default occur you better get your shotgun loaded.

What happened in Russian default? Or any sovereign default?

There will definitely be some sort of martial law. Folks don't seem to realize that when the US defaults Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid payments stop. That means no food or medicine for about 50% of the population overnight. It's gonna get ugly.

    What is th devil's business.

Anyone who equates trading or investing to gambling does not know what they are doing. The fact that 90% of volume loses is irrelevant. 90% of restuarants fail. Is opening a restaurant gambling? I suppose it is if you don't know what you are doing.

There is more than enough evidence for a CRIMINAL Case against GS

That's exactly right. Unfortunately, GS is above the law and can do whatever they want to whomever they want. The only way GS ever gets prosecuted is if the entire world turns on them and the US has an inferior military, which one day will happen. Just not this day.

    Or just plain "off-ed."

Do you leave your trading behind for the day?

Trading is only "gambling" or "betting" when you don't know what you're doing.

Do you leave your trading behind for the day?

Man! Yeah, that's what I meant!! It's an all-encompassing obsession.

Do you leave your trading behind for the day?

No. If I'm awake I'm thinking about trading.

    SLV Straddled Here

Not at all. It's also a measure of inflation and the Fed has to manipulate the markets in the interest of their earlier statement of controled inflation with the exception of the volatile food and energy prices.

    SLV Straddled Here

This is pretty funny. Margin req's didn't increase due to volatility. They increased because the higher silver goes the more people will flock to it and use it as a currency instead of the paper the Fed hands out. The Fed had everything to do with this.

There is no financial regulations in wall street.

Well said. The market hasn't changed a bit, regardless of the thievery. It's always been around and always will be around.

Precisely right. The US is turning into a police state and that didn't turn out so well in Germany.

    $600 - $650 laptops

I just bought a Toshiba laptop. It's a top shelf machine. I had an Acer before that and the Toshiba puts the Acer to shame. Just the way the machine is built and assembled is impressive. It's solid, solid, solid. Highly recommend.

The Wall Street Takeover and the Next Financial Meltdown

Permit me to issue and control the money of the nation and I care not who makes its laws. — Mayer Amsched Rothchild The banks run the country. The Government is powerless to fix the banking system because the banking system won't allow it. The only solution is for the American people to...
