I think your ps post is confusing. There are certainly winners and losers after a distribution has happened random or otherwise. Look at annual (past) returns of hedge funds, the problem is what is the future return and its variability (vol). I know what you are saying though, I would say that...

can't really disagree if markets are truly random then entry doesn't really matter. Its all random whatever that means. I think position sizing and management are just as important so I agree with you there.

whoever said TA can predict the future with great accuracy?If that were the case some guy with a 20 period ema would rule the world. I find it useful for getting into and out of trends (a series of coin flips in the same direction)....:)

haven't really traded it seems like you could get burned on any piece of news. I would favor a short around 50, good vehicle for trading though lots of movement. :)

say it ain't so surf: In fact, if you note on the chart, the 50-week simple moving average built a support zone each time the market sold off in the spring. If the same pattern repeats itself this year, then the DJIA should sell off around 1,800 points from the present levels to about 13,250...

vixandmore is a great blog, you can go to finviz look up optionable, earnings date after market close, or look up the next few days and play earnings. There is $$ to be made/lost on direction, vol collapse, nothing wrong with increasing your knowledge but why pay for someone else guesses. see...
