what's going on with es options today?

hi thanks for the response, very good info. I guess my main confusion was the 60/120 bid/ask, i know mm will widen the spread during current market, but this is just too extreme. I tried to contact ib, but usually by the time they check the bid/ask has come back to normal, and IB cs cant...

your make believe trades are down 27k in 1 afternoon. No real daytrader with your size will ever let it get to this point especially in current market. 880-890 is key support(which we just hit in after hour due to the oversea market plunging) just as 1000 was, if we break that the next leg...

i completely agree, those fuckers need to be shot, they are the true financial terrorist. It's like the fire marshal standing at the back of a theater watching a cigar burn without saying anything, then when it finally turned into a huge blaze and people are trying to exit, they started...

    The run on Morgan Stanley

none of this matters, if shit hits the fan, ms will be gone just like the other ibs. and the chinese government has already lost tens of billions investing in us and europe, they not putting any more money. The chief fund manager of the government who once was considered a savvy investor, is...

FED directed 7 day "banking holiday"....what would you do?

You fucking retard, stop spreading those useless drivels. They want to start up the banks, not to stop them.

what's going on with es options today?

But i thought the MM are required to provide a bid/ask? This is what i see in IB for es options, i dont know if it's a problem with IB or the actual quotes. For example: ES 1080P 1) it will show bid:100 ask:107, which has a wide spread but is normal 2) then it blinks and the bid...

    For the love of god

it's too late to move out your investments in 401k. The investment accounts are not leveraged, so at this point you are better off just hang on for the ride. Market is in panic, so be rational. And for those who are trading highly leveraged without a tight stop, they are all probably...

what's going on with es options today?

The es option bid/ask spread is so wide today, not to mention a lot of the quotes is not even printing. What's going on? is it because of reinstatement of short selling? When will the bid/ask come back to normal. thanks

i still think we will bottom in oct, but the question is how low will it go before that happens. With 1000 broken, it's just too uncertain to do anything but intraday with tight stop. I am going to look for some delta neutral plays to short the vega/volatility instead.

FAIL! Fought 1000, cannot break and closed significantly below 1000. At this point downward risk is greater than the upside reward. I closed the whole position out, taking a loss.

this is pretty amazing, look at the es futures since the market close it is literally frozen at the 1000-1005, especially after such a volatile day. Everyone both long and short is holding their breath to see which way it breaks. Interesting times :D

#1 in progress, although got stopped around the 1080 level. I believe this is the double bottom. Went long at 1004 with covered call at strike 1020 and a stop loss at 955 for the whole position. Need to see the charts for the next few days for confirmation, once confirmed i will remove the...

1000 is almost tested, two situations will happen now 1) We rally to 1100 in the next few days, then a retest of 1000 around mid/late oct as the double bottom and begin the uptrend for the next 2-3 months 2) Today's test of 1000 was it, and the afternoon rally is the start of the uptrend...
