hit the 6 key on the chart (same as selecting Current Day for the time frame) Right click on the chart, select VIEW from the right click menu, then set it to NEVER show pre/post market data (a sub-menu inside VIEW)

Paper trading is in beta, regardless of what version of TWS you are running. (its the server processes that are beta). So please treat it as such. You cannot have the same expectation of it beeing error free as you would with a production system.
