    Election Night 2022 Thread

Zeldin is at 47% in NY. Redistricting had no effect on that. Obviously NY is mostly blue overall, because of the concentration of Democratic voters in 4 boroughs in NYC though (all, but SI). Outside of that you have small urban pockets of blue like Buffalo, Albany, Rochester, and Syracuse. They...

    Election Night 2022 Thread

States need to get their shit together. You would think that everybody should have over 99% of the vote counted at this point. NV is only 80% in and AZ only 69%.

PredictIt still has the Democrat as the favorite in NV. Not sure what kind of vote is missing there, but Laxalt is slightly ahead.

Trump suppressed the vote in that election. Kelly or Perdue would have won easily last night. Walker is completely incompetent. Kemp probably would have won by more if some people didn't show up just to vote against Walker.

The increase in crime is a top issue there. Many people remember the early 90's and are afraid of going back to that era.

Trump says he'll make a "very big announcement" Nov. 15

I'm saying you have to put in context who is saying it (the POTUS is the only nationally elected politician and what they say carries more weight than anybody else in government), the factual basis of their arguments (every single judge who looked at Trump's arguments thought they were...

Fetterman prime example anything is possible in life

It's possible, especially with Roe v. Wade. Fetterman was a good candidate before the stroke. I think the dressing/acting like a regular guy sells well.

Fetterman prime example anything is possible in life

It was supposed to be a red wave, but SCOTUS headwinds and Trump's awful candidates stopped it. Fetterman would have had his ass handed to him by Toomey.

Fetterman prime example anything is possible in life

I don't know how Beto thought he could take out Abbott to be honest unless he thought the power grid would be more important. Beto is a fine politician, but Abbott is also not an awful candidate. Cruz is shitty, was arguably the worst Republican senator for most of the previous decade, but he's...

To Toomey, right? A decent Republican candidate. In a wave year.

Historical trends are the president's party getting crushed in their first midterms. It's like a 30 seat swing on average. I think Roe v. Wade was definitely a factor and could have prevented a major blow to Democrats. In a wave, there were some awful Republican candidates in 2010 that prevented...

Fetterman prime example anything is possible in life

I do agree that Fetterman not labeling himself a socialist was helpful. Progressives always bitch about money, but plenty of good candidates win despite getting massively outspent all the time. Nina Turner could not win a general election in anything competitive. She certainly could not win...

Trump says he'll make a "very big announcement" Nov. 15

Democrats mostly cry about voter suppression and how it's easy for Republicans to cast their votes. I don't think making it a major issue has helped Stacey Abrams, but the denial with Trump is different, because of January 6th. Also the fact that he lost court case after court case with his own...

    Mr "Whatever" vs De Santis

DeSantis would need to clear the field so that he gains support of the Never Trumpers. He would have the establishment and business community behind him. However, Trump will hit below the belt and I think he would cower. While DeSantis is popular, Trump is still more popular outside of FL, and...

Fetterman prime example anything is possible in life

I disagree. I think Lamb would have won easily and pre-stroke Fetterman might have won by a larger margin. However, I think it's because pre-stroke he was a better natural politician than Lamb. Not because he was more progressive. He's just more of the guy that people would have a beer with and...

Trump says he'll make a "very big announcement" Nov. 15

I just say compare the things those candidates do/say to somebody like Marco Rubio. Rubio isn't making a name for himself denying the election results. Rubio doesn't have a background of peddling snake oil on TV. Rubio doesn't speak in completely incoherent word salads. People might disagree...

Fetterman prime example anything is possible in life

Fetterman won, because Oz was a shit candidate. NJ resident who has made a career pushing snake oil on TV. I guess that's par for the course for the modern Trump endorsed candidate, but it's still shit to the independent-minded voter.

Trump says he'll make a "very big announcement" Nov. 15

The problem is he endorsed these bad candidates. Walker, Oz, Bolduc, and Masters were all propped up by Trump in the primary. Oz really had no chance until Trump backed him.

CO has become to Democrats what FL is to Republicans. Guess it started when they legalized the devil's lettuce and lost the family values of candidates like Lauren Boebert (like holding AR-15's for the family Christmas photo).

It's an issue and it cost them votes, but they would have the Senate right now if not for Trump getting involved and endorsing awful candidates like Walker, Bolduc, Masters, and Oz. Not to mention numerous joke gubernatorial and House candidates.
