Do you Realize how easy it is to spend 1 million dollars?

A million dollars is so--------- easy when you're in NYC, LA, or Chicago. I don't mean with buying expensive cars or other luxury material... but just an hour, whoring at a club. High profile whoring/partying = $$$ = water.

Ever ask the question: Is it robust?

I guess I'm being a bit too broad and subjective... :( How about I start off with historical backtesting and/or data itself. - Back in the internet bubble days, NatWest (now RBOS) made $100+ million loss, due to the options traders using the wrong data. Because they were using the wrong...

How fund-managers get their customers to wait for years?

This really depends. The guy saying that the investor has been there for 2-3 years, then they're trying to leave due to under-performance. It's almost impossible to have them sign a new LU. Unless it's some exotic product or REIT related, it's hard to stick a long LU period in the contract...

Ever ask the question: Is it robust?

Let me start off the thread with myself. (while keeping it short) I tend to look at robustness as a part of risk management. I, currently, have a tendency of thinking... "What ifs" in every case I can think of. What if the market goes against this position? What if the system stops...

Ever ask the question: Is it robust?

Markets are always changing. Trends end. Tendencies change. Patterns fade. Edges diminshes. All system traders and advanced discretionary traders come to the question of: Is this robust enough? Or as others may ask: Is this working? When you start thinking of robustness of...

    Who would you trade with?

The best prop. firm to work at? Has any of you above traded prop? I'm reading one of the most dumbest replies in ET. The answer is very simple: Where there's a great trader. If you want to argue, then ask yourself why that great trader continues to trade at that firm.

What kind of techniques do heavy scalpers use?

Being a (former-)Chicago trader, I would have to mention that a lot of the Marc's success comes from Kingstree. I don't deny Marc's mentality, but humans are an adaptive animal. You surround yourself with a "focused" group of people, along with Popeyes and Dunkin' Donuts across the...
