Daytrading. The illusion of a TREND

The word "ALL" is incorrect. A brain only functions the way it's made. A better way to say this is some of the conscious function of the brain is useful in trading, the rest isn't. For a Regular Joe, like you and me (excluding autistic traders like Rearden Metal in ET... "fact"), you have...

    Screening for stocks

You're all missing the most important issue. How are you going to trade it, eventually... Screening value and growth for a scalper has "less" meaning... as... Screening for intraday flunctuation for a Buy/Hold has "less" meaning... "Just screening" and "Screening with an...

Daytrading. The illusion of a TREND

Simple. Learn to trade both. What's wrong with that? Why conclude that trend is "this" or "that"? These kind of "definition" leads to losing perspective of finding and trading an edge. "Some" posters in here need to wake up.

    Entries only – thank you.

As much as I agree with Mark B. I would like to warn that MB doesn't mean "cycle" in the sense of esoteric trading terms like Gann or Elliott. MB, along with others like MJ or AC, is a master of technical "noise reduction" to expose a particular edge.

Random Walk Theory Proved, once and for all.

There's a joke to all of this... Is Science random? Are you not (everyone) bound within the "Laws" of nature? As long all forces of nature (and humans who make the market... humans make trading models, you know) rule over us, there is no such thing as "random"... Pseudo-random...

    Developing a profitable strategy

To develop a profitable strategy??? Becoming very competent with backtesting trading models. Then becoming passive towards backtesting. Basically, you have to test a lot of trading models to a point where you can figure out the results before running the tests... even though you test it...

My first post. A little introduction, and a wish to find out how to backtest.

I'll start with a question... Have you ever worked hard on becoming good at the previous set of "styles" you were trading based on? You mention Elliott or Gann... let me test you how well you know both of them... "In terms of Fib. ratio and Gann Angles, what is the gnomonic basis common...

    My system

ORB methods would be a good addition to what the OP has. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Everyone seems to be talking about switches... First thing to do is to create individual "systems" that are profitable on a stand-alone basis. Once you have 2...

    My system

Considering this being a Bull-bias trend following type system... Get advice from MB... Then work on an appreciating system that: 1. Is profitable during the Bearish market period 2. A counter concept system that is profitable, of what you have right now. Once you have enough...
