    Private markets vs. public markets

Even throwing out the big name unicorns there have been a slew of IPOs at lower valuations then the final private investment round, Casper is just the latest example. It is interesting that this is flipped from the dot com days when the institutional folks were knowingly throwing crap at the...

    IBKR suddenly changed margin requirements?

    Got it, makes sense.

    IBKR suddenly changed margin requirements?

So there are firms that provide worse than Reg-T margin for their PM accounts? Why wouldn't you just open up a Reg-T account with them and trade those stocks in that account....and given you could do that why would they provide worse margin in PM?

    IBKR suddenly changed margin requirements?

Changing margins are inherent in PM with any broker I believe due to the stress test methodology. With IB there's a whole additional layer of randomness that comes from "The Algorithm" which rules the company with an iron fist and dare not be questioned. I found PM to be effectively worthless at...

Got it, hence the similar impact to fasting I take it.

Are you worried about connection between cancer and anything that stops telomeres from doing what they do unnaturally?

Futures Spread Trading Taxation in Sweden

Wait a minute, what? I actually haven't had a futures loss so not speaking from experience (obviously haven't been trading them long enough:)) but I thought you could either count it as a capital loss and net out capital gains with the $3,000 per year restriction or do a mixed straddle election?

Anyone tried nootropics or similar for better focus and work endurance?

Amphetamines are scientifically proven to do this, they're actually issued to military pilots. Closely related is methylphenidate otherwise known as Adderall. If you're OK purposely setting out to use one of the most addictive drugs out there (nicotine), why not use a drug purposely made for the...

How did Pension/Retirement work in the 30's and 40's?

Oh no, you're mistaking your juvenile attempts to be offensive with me being offended, which takes far more than the likes you! You're certainly at this point only trolling, but if you ever have the ability to answer those so terribly inconvenient for you questions I posed which you are...

How did Pension/Retirement work in the 30's and 40's?

I notice you responded to something no one said, not sure what danger has to do with anything or why you decided that is some broad determinant of worth? And most telling that you didn't answer the one question I very specifically asked. Too inconvenient for you? If spending 6 months at a time...

How did Pension/Retirement work in the 30's and 40's?

Not sure how you get off with the idea that police and military are "welfare positions"? Seriously? I'd be happy to take you for just a day of "welfare" and see how you hold up...honest offer.

How did Pension/Retirement work in the 30's and 40's?

An interesting and common misapplication of averages that you'll realize instantly when you stop to think about it. Infant mortality was very high then, and a bunch of your population dying at <1 really pulls down the "average" of average lifetime. From 1930-39 26% of babies died before age 1...

Biden Threatens Lawsuit To Halt Release Of Real Iowa Caucus Results

Gotta love ZH. The article says "the Biden campaign has sent a letter to the Iowa Democratic Party warning them that Biden is ready to take the issue of who actually won the primary all the way to the Supreme Court.", then posts a copy of the letter which says nothing even close to that, in fact...

A real edge hardly requires any testing

Read the thread. He acted as if not only unable to understand a series of examples but unable to even grasp what an example was. He was just being a jackass, like I said being on the spectrum would be a charitable read.

Can anyone compete with IBs margin rates?

No, it's a completely legitimate way to borrow without paying any broker margin interest. You can also do the opposite to earn that same interest rate. It's really a bit sad that so few people seem to grasp the concept, incredible how much wasted money they're paying their broker in margin interest.

A real edge hardly requires any testing

Yes, I do hate to see someone who has no concept of analogies, allegories, or comparisons, it's very sad to have to go through life missing a concept that important. It's either a sign of someone pretty far out on the autism spectrum or someone being willfully ignorant because they're a jackass...
