What happens to options if they shut the markets

Thanks for posting this! It is definitely not what I expected when it comes to SPX which I trade. It looks like in most cases they'll turn PM options into AM SOQ options for the next day after a halt that goes across expiration, which is crazy. I had deduced from everything I could find up to...

Senators Sold Stock After Coronavirus Briefings in January

Unfortunately he's already not running for reelection so he's pretty much untouchable unless they decide to retroactively do something about this. Not holding out high hopes on that one!

Senators Sold Stock After Coronavirus Briefings in January

Actually Senator Loeffler, married to the chairman of the NYSE btw, went long web meeting stocks with the proceeds of her sales. So pretty much the same evil if you're trying to make a distinction between avoiding loss and profiting from inside info on a disaster. I think the distinction is...

The cure is worse than the disease

Are you actually capable of an adult level conversation, or is it all sophomoric insults completely untethered to anything the person you're conversing with ever said? It's unclear what exactly you hope to accomplish when you open your mouth?

The cure is worse than the disease

I see we can add reading comprehension to your list of failures. Could you perhaps point out where I said we agreed? Turns out intelligent mature adults are able to have intelligent conversations where they don't agree but still get a lot out of the conversation. That concept is clearly entirely...

The cure is worse than the disease

But, but...according to @MKTrader "Nope, we're a constitutional republic (rule of law, not rule of mob)" so that doesn't matter....or something. Not sure what his point was.

The cure is worse than the disease

If you've decided to reduced a pandemic to your oh so clever combination of the word "liberal" and "retarded" then "logic" is clearly not something you're going to be able to recognize let alone actually think through. I've had a lot of intelligent conversations with people more conservative...

The cure is worse than the disease

I think " The politicians are doing what their electorate wants, as evidenced by the fact that the politicians who took early, decisive action are being praised by their voters and the ones who tried to minimize it are being punished." (that's the part of my post that you cut off when you quoted...

The Fed can now buy stocks (indirectly)

Um... Do I really need to point out that Starbucks isn't a primary dealer and therefore can't avail itself if the aptly named "Primary Dealer Credit Facility", nor could they realistically become one? Just to start to point out the idiocy of the referred to post.

The cure is worse than the disease

No, just another group who's in heaven because they see their otherwise warped worldview as being validated. These are the guys who've been preparing for a post-apocalyptic world their whole lives with bunkers of food, weapons, and gold in their basements.

The cure is worse than the disease

I know a prepper who's in heaven at the moment. Although it was tough for him for the first weeks because he's also a big Trump supporter and Trump was saying there was no crisis, all a big fake news second impeachment attempt. So very conflicted then. Now he's just all around happy, 20 years of...

The cure is worse than the disease

I do wonder at the accuracy of anything we hear out of China. If they're really not experiencing a second wave of infections, then we should be asking why not? As far as the OP, if you insist that everyone be a hyper rational AI about this you're entirely missing the point. The politicians are...

French lab offers ‘millions of doses’ of Covid-19 drug

I've been told by people who've gone through Chloroquine treatment that they almost preferred the malaria it was so harsh. Not sure how that impacts the target demographic who are dying from COVID 19, will they be strong enough to take it?

Oil at $22 a barrel, when do we get .97 cent gas?

Don't know about Ireland, but here in the U.S. if you use enough diesel to make it worth the hassle to do that (i.e. trucker or some kind of commercial operation) then you get inspected for it pretty regularly and your chances of getting caught are high enough to make it not worthwhile. If it's...

    Government hand and billionaires

Because they all have billions in cash in vaults under their estates? You think maybe liquidating billions in a handful of stocks that make up the majority of the wealth of many of these folks might have some unintended consequences? And how exactly do you propose they distribute these funds...

Are there also any traders finding that IB's several stocks prices over 7 USDs higher than other br

I'm not sure I could be more confusing and less clear than you if I tried!
  18. S

That's a first... IB notified me that one of my trades is being busted.

Pretty sure you can ask for a bust as well, the rules are pretty clearly laid out and apply to all market participants. Big traders who are using a tech layer will have functionality built to minimize their exposure to busted trades, but there's no secret cabal going on.

SP500 back to $3300 by end of month

Congratulations, you just shit on one of the half dozen people on this forum who are professionals who actually trade for a living and know wtf they're talking about. I have to agree with the douche assessment. Double douche actually because people like you make the people who do add value...

Oil at $22 a barrel, when do we get .97 cent gas?

While they're not all that sensitive to oil prices they are very sensitive to demand. I'm guessing jet fuel demand fell off a cliff, gasoline and diesel can't be doing much better. People like @bone who know more about it then me can probably give a more informed opinion on this, but it also...
