99.9% of Italians would disagree vehemently with you in your description of their country. Italy is the Louisiana of Europe? You are likely to incurr an Italian Fahtwah with words like that :D There is poverty in the US no question, but there has always been poverty in the US. Is it worse...

    Interview with Jerome Kerviel

One thing we do know, any trader who risks the net worth of the institution he trades for has no business thinking he is anything better than a gambler with OPM. Yes they unwound the trade badly but it was a trade that should never have been made in the first place in that magnitude. Just...

    Interview with Jerome Kerviel

Someone should kick that little snot's ass. To create that big of a loss and not to show some humility is astounding. The arrogant prick still thinks he is the shit :D , no limits to human delusion I see. And he says he did it all for the bank and not for any personal ambition, lol, what a joker.

I find it ironic that you post that the US is unaware of what is going on around the globe economically when it that very same activity that assures the US will not suffer the depression you envisage. You are right on about half of what you post and then use those facts to engage in tunnel...

Your reasoning is wrong because as the $ falls US assets look cheaper and cheaper relative to the expenisve assets elsewhere in the world. The current Fed auctions are met with such great demand that yeilds are the lowest in a long time, that tells you that the deman is still there and the $ is...

    Headache

Caffine withdrawl can cause major headaches (this is why no-doze above sometimes would work). Might be as simple as having a cup of coffee if you haven't had one in a day or two. Both hunger and constipation can cause headaches both with simple cures. Eyes strain is another common cause...

Its got nothing to with any old notions of dems being bad for the economy etc. but specifically to do with the Bush Tax cuts that both dem candidates have said they would let expire. Cap gains tax is part of the package.

Because McCain is the only GOP that has a hope in hell of beating the Dems according to the polls. If McCain doesn't get it now and get the GOP behind him he will have a tougher time after the nomination with money, if he even gets it. As far as the markets are concerned either of the Dems are...

Hucka-hucka-hucka-Bee projected to win in West Virginia, no surprise there. If McCain doesn't have a strong showing today the markets will probably sell off overnight/tomorrow.

Hi Credit Card Balance? "It's Your RIGHT To Not Pay"

When I see stuff like this it makes me wonder why I didn't just leverage myself to the hilt with debt on houses, boats, and then just stiff everyone and go live in Costa Rica or somewhere like that. Then I remember, I have to look at myself in the mirror each morning when I shave.

Why home prices could drop 25% more on average....

Wow, I thought I had it good but you have me beat .What state? You are right, there is no way that buying makes any sense at this differential. Here in MA higher end properties don't tend to sell for much of a discount (unless they are out in the boonies), they just stay on the market for years...

15.75% return on turkey government notes?

Safest way to play these things is via an international or EM bond fund, unless you really know what you are doing there are too many risks involved that are cumbersome for a retail trader to hedge. An old article but covers the basics...
