    The Subconscious mind...

Ive gotten lots of straight answers from Jack. You have to catch him in the right mood. :) This idea of always looking for entries is new to me too. More food for thought.

Fair enough. I also do things a bit different than Jack on several points. As you know I trade the rockets but I do not use his exact parameters for entry. I am now doing a half assed slalom trade. Halfassed in that I dont do the longs but only the shorts. Entry on these are off volume gaussians...

I have been following Jack/bubba7/grob109's posts since he started posting here and went from a sceptic to believer over the course of time. If you search you will see there are thousands of posts here. Jack spends most of his time talking about the psychology aspects of trading and it can be...

Dont you think it is quite possible to be "pulled" into the market? When you bracket a trade you are not predicting. Certain conditions can also "pull" you into the market when they occur without any prediction involved. p.s. Thanks Jack for the reply above.

Thats an understatement if I ever heard one. This debate has been going on for years. Only the con side keeps changing.:)

Some interesting posts. Jack I am curious how you traded the open yesterday(7/21). Bar 4 was an inside bar in the middle of a high volatility stall with a fbo on bar 7 and finally a bo on bar 10. If you entered before bar 10 would you explain where and why.

Do you have a EDGE over the market?

You remind me of a couple of other guys here. Too intelligent. So caught up in the math that you will probably have a hard time trading. In the attached chart I can assure you that the odds favor reaching the target before the stop.

Do you have a EDGE over the market?

These figures are probably true if you enter randomly but how do you explain the people who do make consistent money? There must be situations where the odds become favorable.

Im always suprized by how different people look from the picture of them I have in mind by reading their posts. I wish more names were available with the pics. Brandon and Toni and Baron are the only ones I recognize.

weeky profit traget for the S&P E-mini

Its really pointless to speculate about this. What difference does it make? If you can take 1 pt a week consistently you will be well on your way.

Thx for your very specific answer. I trade YM and think your pretty much on the mark with 11 tick noise so I shall take a much closer look at your recommendations. edit: I arrived at 10-12 tick noise figure by experience. Did you get this figure from some sort of testing?

If this is the case why are there not thousands of computers running a random entry program? It has the same problem that all trading has. WHERE do you place your stop and WHERE and WHEN do you take profits?

LOL. Thx Steve. You learn something new every day. Ive had the same problem with charts and did not know you could do that and Ive been messing around with computers for quite awhile.
