Carrefour cuts profit outlook, shares tumble

Carrefour is the shittiest supermarket chain there is. They only care about bringing quality in their home country France.

    the mark is coming back.

The Dutch minister of Finance on the suggestion of the PIGS leaving the Euro. "No. We can't allow that. They would refind their competitivity and it would seriously damage our exportsector."

    What was Ireland's problem?

People say Ireland was a terrible place to live before they joined the Euro. Practicly a 3th world nation. People often tend to romanticize the past. Oh how better the Irish were off when they still enjoyed sovereignity and in control of their own monetary policies... Or were they?

Bundesbanks Weber: "If that amount is not enough, we could increase it,"

Isnt risk anywhere.... Be it Japan, The Eurozone or the US... Only 3 weeks ago after QE2 all the attention went to how it would surely and uterly trash the USD for once and for all. I am indeed from Belgium. The most unionized country in the world that has gone on strike more so then...

Bundesbanks Weber: "If that amount is not enough, we could increase it,"

Wasnt the expensive Euro hurting any recovery possibility for the PIGS and should it have gone any higher hurting Western European export equally hard? Anyway... Given the razor thin margins the Chinese have on their trade with Europe and the fact that Bernanke and co view a weakening USD...

    Should the USD be abolished?

Why is a break up of the US less phantomable then a break up in the Euro? Just because it's been around longer?

    Gold

Let's not kid ourselves... The gold bull is not in it's infant stage anymore. Say it goes to 5K$ from here thats like a 200%ish rise. You'd have to put in a lot of your money here in gold to really enjoy a significant apreciation of your total capital and who is to say gold actually...

    Should the USD be abolished?

People say it makes no (economic) sense at all for a Greek farmer and a German factory worker to share the same currency. It's an supposed anomaly that benefits neither the Greek nor the German. Why does it makes sense for an Alabama farmer and a New York banker to share the same currency...

Crazy airport security theater affecting travel & economy?

People should get a choice. Planes where everyone is stripped down and bowed down before entering.... Or planes where you can just buy a ticket and take your seat.

Crazy airport security theater affecting travel & economy?

Intrusion on personal liberties are probably part of the business cycle as much as anything else and an underestimated indicator at that I would think.

    Gold

I take it most selling on behalf of the individual investor originates out of fear of holding the bag as tech stock holders and house owners endured previously last decade.
