Italy's Berlusconi backs ban of futures markets

You sir are the joke. The italian people are probably amongst those in the best financial condition of the entire 'industrialised first world' as they have a very low debt level compared to the rest of europe let's not even talk about the US. Same goes for Japan. Country broke, people...

'World Bank could run out of money 'within 12 months'

The Bank, whose job it is to support low-income countries, has had to hand out so much cash in the wake of the financial crisis that its resources could run dry within 12 months. “By the middle of next year we will face serious constraints,” said its president Robert Zoellick, as he...

A thorough analysis on why Obama will be loved worldwide for years to come

I agree, but as my opening post claims that will not have any effect on Obama's popularity outside of the US. You can divide the world ex USA in 2 parts: 1: Those who hated Bush 2: Those who think all American Presidents are puppets. The first category will need a nuclear strike by...

A thorough analysis on why Obama will be loved worldwide for years to come

He isn't that guy. Quite the phenomenon really come to think of it.:) Obama could ad 30 trillion $ to the national debt, invade Iran and nuke the entire African continent and still people would rate him above the inbred Texan chief in command. The public mind, it's a funny thing.

Deflation or Inflation 5 yr horizon?

The entire inflation deflation debate in my view is totally useless in deciding your portfolio management. DOW from 2000 to when it crashed: Everyone agrees that this era was inflationary rather then deflationary and still stocks moved up only 40% in 8 years which isnt that spectacular...

US infrastructure is at the verge of collapsing.

I read in another article posted some time ago a lot of the superior and more modern German and Japanese infrastructure could be attributed to the fact they got blown to pieces in WWII. The US didnt have that advantage. Funny way of looking at it but it does sound as if it has some merit.:)

Peter Schiff: U.S. Rally Is Doomed, Gold Will Hit $5000

You mean GG? Anyway, I agree but the same speculative aspects are in play for about almost any other asset class. As for the GDX staying flat, that has a lot to do with some of their main components being the largecap miners. Those largecaps have done fine and recovered from most of...
