Bought Jan/Feb at .14, not looking for a whole lot out of it. I feel like it's been quite a bit stronger than Feb/Mar. Anybody have any insight on why that might be the case?

Definitely don't day trade it lol it is way too slow and most have fees for exiting and entering the funds more than once in a certain time period, but yes more of a multi-month view. I exited almost all stock holding back in July, and have been buying back in now on dips.

Well, I have been slowly moving my funds in the 401k back into stocks on down days. Still not all the way back in. I'm not going to try to time this thing much more I don't think though.

They already do raise the margins on a ton of products, or on all the futures and future spreads I seem to look at they are higher than exchange requirements.

When you short shares, you are borrowing someone else's shares to sell. Google naked short selling.

Are any of you all trading soybean crush with IB? And if so, how are you doing it? I tried building the manual spread and it gave me an error message saying that non-guaranteed spreads could only have 2 legs.

With naked puts you collect the premium if the stock moves up...so you do profit off it.

I was actually looking at doing that fly with a few -nov/+dec to a single long vol front spread. Things have moved quite a bit in the short vol one since I first started looking at that, but possibly still a play there.

Lol for real, it is crazy. I did the chat thing last night with IB asking how they come up with their requirement and the guy asked where you find the exchange margin requirements, and then said well our risk manager must think it is a particularly risky spread or something. Oh well.
