Well, I think I get into some positions because I see them as really great entries for whatever type of trade. However, I may start thinking a lot about what should my next scalp be - and that sometimes contradicts my "longer term" position. Anyways, how long should a "position" be after all ...

Markets are very "stubborn" today with little willingness to send it back into the range - which would be "the safe thing" to do. Cut my short at +7 instead of targetted +10 since my patience wore thin, and the moves are still so erratic.

Well, an attempt to break through to 1.2930s seems unlikely for now, without further ado. Will do an attempt for re-entry into range from here where I stopped my position - with a shorter kind of horizon. For positions I go for 5-10. Depends on how strong conviction I have for the...

Closed the position at +39 ticks. This week does not look the most scalping friendly to me. I have stayed away from scalping since I have difficulties reading my signals .. maybe I have to adapt them - or make them adapt better. However, I suspect that it's the options-actions which they aren't...

Futures trading seems to be running. http://www.nasdaq.com/econoday/index.html edit: BTW the little extension downwards didn't scare me - since I'm in it for a long haul for now.

I guess I'll enter a small long position here in mid 1.288s ... or just below 80 as it seems now. Done. Now, I'll have to think about exit strategies - especially for when I get in doubt - which is often as a fearful scalper. I think I'll use the old trick of "do I want to enter at this...

Will the last one to leave please remember to turn off the lights ? :D Then we can safely go for 1.30 again in the run-up to markets getting back on track after today's upset. Sure, we'll have some intermediate ranges and extensions .. but there's no denying the fundamental 1.30+ drive.

Status quo on wording but with .25% increase ... It's just like we could presume - a range developing .... and it's around toggling 1.29 or yesterdays's close for what it can get. Trade deficit pre-empted all the action, and added to caution and exhaustion. Just look at the lame action right...

Seems like a few buyers below 1.2880 being willing to bet the FOMC statement. More so than over that level. 3 mins ahead.

The talk about central banks in Japan, Korea buying USD and then the ECB complacency - then Italians saying intervention must be studied ... it makes for fretted minds. I'm getting tired of all the smoky talk amidst the whip-action and think we need to rise above it and see that USD will...

Reading more on Thomson news comments makes me a little more doubtful we will go 1.30+ today again. The action being a tad whippy and light at times makes me believe that we will see trader exhaustion come into play towards the FOMC announcement. At least being right about pre-emptive move...

I'm more inclined to see it test some more on the down side for a little retrace-testing .. but getting into range trading with analysis getting everyone on the right track later on.

Hehe, yes, that's the difference of losing or winning on the trade or day most times. We can all see the direction, but getting those exit levels and feeling good about the trade is still difficult. When not being satisfied - we come back for more. :) It's a fair bet, but there is no...

Don't feel bad about the mixed emotions ... I think that Globex is not very indicative of where spot is going today. That is - it follows it - but does not - absolutely not - lead it's way. Days like this makes me lose whatever little edge I feel I have some times - and kicks my butt down...

:D When I was doing +- $80k per day I was not concerned at all. But when I got a drawdown in one day alone of more than $ 500k I took notice, and stopped the equities strategy I had. The Iraq war and the dot-com crash was not generally benficial to equity-trading. I held equities for...

Yes, my position trades are in the roughly 5-10 sizes .. being rather careful. I agree that I would have been much more satisfied with my trading if I had such a long position during the 4 month time-period. When going into 100+ contracts it's like you're sky-diving and have to pull the cord...

I consider myself an amateur - but a successful one. If I ever come up with a profitable automated program from all my adventures into that realm - I might consider getting more professional, but that would have to be with a lot more funds. Preferrably in the millions.

Various. Sometimes it's seconds. Other times it might be hours. :) My main thing is that the trade must immediately go into my favor .. or it can slip a little if it's plain range trading. I always look to get profitable on all trades - and not risking losses. That's mainly because I do...

Yes, size can get out of hand and put that uncertainty in there which almost forces you into trades you wouldn't normally feel you "needed". I have doubled my funds for trading with EuroFX a little time back, and that's around $ +150k in the 3 months I've traded it. On the other hand - I'm...

Just saw that ECB says it's ok with 1.3000 and even 1.3500 as it offsets high oil prices. But 1.4000 would give some objections. All according to Thomson. I guess everyone can go long after all, just don't rush the rise too much into the rallies, because that makes everyone jumpy. :) So...
