You don't always need $$$s mn to move the markets your way - so then it becomes a calculated risk ... If I bought e.g. futures and started putting 500-600 contracts to block off a level, or an iceberg at some place - not everyone would like to go through that amount of risk - and that would...

$75 mn or $225 is not peanuts for either one of the parties involved, just remember that. :) I.e the market might not care - but those involved DO care, you can bet on that.

I have one "complaint" about the current price level: I don't know how to scalp it. If we at least did a nice-effort run for 1.3000 it would be easier, but this lurking does not suit my scalping during the RTH. It looks like no scalps are here fo rthe taking - not even the lunch hour and...

I am no options expert, and honestly don't know a lot about the FX options. There are some options traded with spot dealers, and then the CME options on EuroDollar and 1-week options, 1-month etc. The Philly side - I don't know anything about it - except that it was the first exchange with FX...

It just means that the expiry will attract "tensions" if we're close to the price level. It will be fairly "easy" sometimes to surpass it with a little effort - and thereby collecting the prize. So it all depends on the market conditions, how close we are and how big the prize is as well as...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Well, some will try and break above to get their side of the prize, while others will try to defend - not letting it break above - to claim their prize on the options. Remember - options are "prenegotiated prices".

There is a large 1.3000 options expiry tomorrow - consider that a fore-warning. :) Sometimes writing is fun, but it's better to be free from having to write. Besides, would YOU pay $100 to read my comments ? :D

Well, what I remember was that he said that markets should decide foreign exchange pricing themselves.

I'm outta this spaghetti a little. Thomson complains: "Until further notice all US economic data is to be read bearishly for the USD. Doesn't matter what the data says, the specs are going to sell the buck until they find buyers..." That Jamie Coleman is the most biased commenter on that...

.. but muted reactions. Got to be a little more careful then, still € continues strong. Thomson of course cites this as the € "easing off the highs" ... :D It's still smack middle in the range for the last hours when I look at the charts, but everyone's entitled to call it however they...

LMAO :D "long overdue counter trend rally" .... Well, that's in their dreams. The double deficit is growing - not completely out of control - but national debt caused by this megalomania could increase by around $3 trillion - from $7 trillion to $10 trillion over the next decade with Bush...

I think it was quite helpful to see how the EURUSD deatched itself from the crossing pressure from the USDJPY at times - when asian session was drawing to a close and european session was nearing. The bullsh*t factor was high at times during the asian session - but I guess that's fair before...

Well, I won't need to hold it any longer - as it was hit just a little while ago. A nice +73 ticks profit on that one - if I count - pausing, re-entering - stop-out and all. A little bonus was the +8 ticks scalping too. Ah, seems like it's dawning a bright morning too. :D I had stops at...

I scale in, out when scalping - and also did so for some positions testing. The problem was that I mostly increased leverage when things were in my disfavour to lower my entry - not very brilliant - but it made me not lose on most of those trades. I am quite apt at getting bottoms/peaks on...

Seems some guys are bitch-slapping each other with 1-lot contract sizes on 1.2930. The MM seem to implement a "pawn-protect" strategy with a single lot ahead of his pressure. Someone is hitting this one and the bigger size with an additional 1-lot. Makes for some good laughs I guess...

I scalp, swing a little here - with upside bias. I am reducing now, possibly bringing back the longer term trade size. It's just strange how to handle this situation. I guess I can call it separate position trades - but on similar analysis results. Whatever, I'm back in ... reducing some size...

Check out the "order flow" tab for some "rumoured bids and offers" from the desks. Then the rest are "news items". One cannot complain about downward pressure right now for the €$, the options down there are perceived as the likelier target than the 1.3000s still. :) edit: going on...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Right now the chart isn't that pretty-looking, but it's coincided with asian session open. Maybe this triggered the options-related offers reported around 1.2900-1.2920 ... Thomson says the same guys have the range by the curlys with the 1.3010 barrier too. edit: it looks spiffier now, and...
