Yes, just use the E-quivalents URL I posted. Then you will say "aha!"

Remember the e-quivalents URL I posted - take a look at that one - it makes it easier. I am (succesfully) long USDJPY of course. :) The 103.50 level is as scary as playing Silent Hill on the PSX the first time.

Just the CME product designations for 6E EURUSD aka EuroFX and 6J USDJPY .. both full-sized contracts. It's because of their 2-letter designations on products. edit: seems like easy money when I got in at the top. :)

My initial view on this 6J USDJPY CME futures contract is that it seems just as good for scalping as the 6E EuroFX CME contract. chinook, if you're not collapsed of sleepiness - take a look at this one. At these extremes you can probably do a nice set of trades - because it can give better...

Thomson commented on why and how the USDJPY crumbled today. I guess I have to brush up on some of those old japanese skills from uni, and start having testing trading there. I do like watching NHK from time to time too... I will of course do scalping at first since I'm extra fearful when...

"Everyone" got stopped out above 1.2310. So I think that is the reason for this. I don't think it's a bull-trap per se, but rather indecision. The USDJPY slide 2 hours before the 1.3010+ break of course helped it along. I wish I had taken a better look when I woke up, but with roughly 2-3...

I think it's safer to assume a short position from around highs, if possible. Breaking the 1.3050 does require some effort - while reatracing would be easier to start snowballing. Profit-taking etc. could easily contribute. I think I have around 700-800 posts in this thread. I wish I could...

Sure, because losing more than a normal day's gains is going to cost you. There are stop-limits to trades, and there are limits to daily losses as well. It seems the USDJPY cross is more extreme than the "puny" jump for the €$. There has been increased focus, pressure on asian currencies...

Sorry for late reply, but I think the thin action we saw earlier is still going to be the prevailent pattern until something triggers it. Most likely an external matter - let's say a comment, or crude oil etc. It seems this last week and a half has been into these ranges, but now we're "in...

Not very broad based range whipping for the numbers release today. May we get time-based reactions to things like US 6E RTH start, equity open , european close etc. ? Still quite thin action considering fairly mainstream numbers release.

Seems like we're fanning out here with some greater ranges. Thinning action and upcoming US RTH session will see more of that profit-taking, and volatility it seems. Jamie Coleman at Thomson will start talking about jawboning from the US again, and remember som more Fed district bank...

On www.dailyfx.com/FinanceChart.html you do a "timescale monthly" and you get chart dating back to january 1980. 1.45ish would be the top we can see on these charts - probably higher before 1980 and the early 1990s highs.

I think there are a few 1-3050-ish guys feverishly hedging their positions further now. That avalanche should have scared anyone right now. The news later could give it a strong whip-pretext. But we're still on course a little above here. edit: on the book now - everyone are afraid they're...

I'm not sure you're going to get +30 ticks on that, since your stops are probably too tight ? What's the target and are you "all mechanical" already with a trailing from your entry ? Then it seems like it's aimless, just a pot-shot scalp if so. You have been scalping a lot lately ... :)...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

I think US RTH action will be covering some losses on shorts here - for all those not being triggered above 1.3010-ish. Otherwise choppish with possible break of 1.3050 looming.

I did another +2 scalp, but I was looking for a +10. I don't think shorting this seems like a winning strategy. -20 now on 4 trades - a little more leverage on that last one, but still not exactly a devastating loss from that initial small position. :)

One bad scalp and a better short revenge scalp after that and I'm at a total of -22 ticks. It seems stuck a little here right now, but we'll see testing of downside in a little again. 1.3010-ish might hold some resistance - while 1.3000 would be easy going with toggling a lot on bigger chops...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

I'm seeing some fierce resistance here too. I have my stop a little above where it has been - a little higher than the ATH. Does not look good, and I should perhaps cut it right here for a -9 ticks, but will hold on a little. edit: seconds after this post, I got stopped out for. Oh, well...

Just hit a little entry here for a little test position with tight stops and a little better downside profits expected.

We've stayed in this limbo range of around 1.2900 and below 1.30 for a week now (only with brief passing above), and tonight I do not see the same setup as last night. I do think this is a type of consolidation that would be benefitial to the €, but at the same thing other parameters as the...
