That's true to some point, but I think you need to regard the numbers and the conditions in the market to decide how they will react to it - and IF they will react to it. E.g price-levels coupled with close barriers might prevent the market from moving - or it might whipsaw strongly if some...

Well, I am thinking about what a fortune I could have made on the logical analysis I made last night, but I am not getting into revenge trading it for that reason. I'm looking at taking care of my equity first and foremost - not trying to drive off a cliff at high speed. :) I think defining...

Isn't it nice to be perfectly right ? :D I just wish I had the courage to exploit it fully. That's why I'm looking into more systems for position trading - I think I can make it big time if I keep this up.

I have a little more for trading - and a lot more in other terms and currencies - but I think that for my trading I can take advantage of my beliefs. I still have a little way to go to make up for my losses in equities after the dot-com collapse, so I'm not celebrating yet.

So the number was bad ... but don't be surprised to see a continued EURUSD slide - it's the best thing for everyone - and the most surprising move against that last number. :) BTW I recently moved over 100k of my funds from € into $. Since I think the longer term trend will be lowered €$...

How about trying to set a fixed target - like you'll say that it looks like it could go to 1.xxxx when looking at charts - and then saying - that's my target and if it gets really close - but then looks like it is reversing - I will still close it ? I don't have much "faith" in the mechanical...

I think it'll be volatile - but pretty safe bet that we go down to at least 1.26. I don't take position trades with that long horizons though, although I probably should. Maybe I will - but it's very tough mentally to accept that it could go -100 pips or more first. I much prefer to scalp...

I'm +11 already on that, and I'm just trying to analyse stuff. Read my other posts from last night, and you'll see why I'm taking this position.

I think it'll be very volatile over the next few sessions - but within the range of the last two weeks. I'm looking into shorting USDJPY from 104.30s here.

That Jamie Coleman has a pretty low threshold for what kind of rumours he'll put out on the newswire from Thomson. He notes that dealers talk about a possible coup in North Korea - where dealers say that portraits of Kim has been removed and the title "Dear Leader" has been changed several...

If things lighten up like the Japanese reaction might indicate I think we're in for a hefty slide; at least to around 1.24-26 ... :) edit: The big payouts at 1.3050 - 1.3100 might just hold us in volatility here a little still, but after that it's no way but back a little.

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

It seems the proximity to 103.50 scared the USDJPY crowd into a hefty bounce to almost mid 104s ... The strengthening USD on the back of jobs numbers is not typical of the last weeks, but might as I suggested earlier, start to show signs of how normalization is on it's way now - becuase the USD...

Wow, I would almost think someone read my posts when looking at the european open and the hour just before it.... the USDJPY and the EURUSD did EXACTLY that. :D

It was very good during US RTH. I also did some after asian open, but there are quite a lot of "holes" in the orderbook. Just not that tight spread as during US RTH. I think that 6J was very comparable to 6E with regards to movement within the book, but much less "noisy" - and a little...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

The nice thing about pleasing everyone here is that US numbers releases will start to matter again - after a blow out on the asian currencies. So I think absolutely everyone will see the pendulum swing the other way and at least pass through the equilibrium some time. Rather easy to be...

Seems the Japanese Cabinet Secretary Hosoda says that the USD is going to be able to depreciate more against the JPY. That will probably ease movement over 1.3050 - maybe as early as pre-european open - or during european session - just like wednesday above 1.3010. That is unless someone sees...

I think there are a lot of related issues like the USDJPY slide and the effect on breaching 1.3010 on EURUSD - so it's always possible to "get into the thread topic" with covering several pairs. Just like now when there are similar market conditions on USDJPY futures to how EURUSD futures was...

Scalping is what I do best. It makes trading the futures so much more likeable and enjoyable over spot.

Here we go again on the 6J. A nice dip from around 104, scary though. :) Nice summarization of how the simplistic markets will put pressure on positions with further consolidation, media talk, in that article, jbt.

Yes, and the last few weeks of 103.50-talk. Anyone fed up with €$ stickiness should look at today's USDJPY chart.
