    Automate grammar and spelling checks?

Anywhere there are Asians, regardless of political leaning. I am heartily sick of posts in the vein of "Amellica eat shit and die!"

    Market noise

Congrats on your wins. I am trailer trash. I trade NQ. When I am not insulting my betters.

    Market noise

"I learned very quickly the only math that was relevant to consistently profitable outcomes in trading was logic." Exhausted the limits of your arithmetic skills, I guess.

    Market noise

BSAM, I would have thought that "California Dreamin' " would have been more appropriate. Don't get me wrong. I hate days like this and refuse to trade them. Like the punchline from my favorite Little Johnny joke: "Fuck 'em! Don't give 'em any!"

    Automate grammar and spelling checks?

And automatically reject all posts below a reasonable standard? That alone would eliminate 90% of the bullshit posts here. If it were me I would reject posts coming from certain parts of the globe.

Average of 5 pt a day trading ES realistic?

Bleesed relief akin to an enema. I put him on ignore. As a ignore-amus.

    How far to backtest intraday?

My approach is goofy. I test a rolling six months of data at the end of every day. And trade out of sample the next day.

Opening Range Breakout , Crabel method

If you mean as a topic for wild speculation as opposed to reporting negative backtesting results, yes.

    Market noise

My chart shows an artful, graceful dance with support and resistance changing partners. Frequent reversals are not noise. A typical "take your money" day.

    How far to backtest intraday?

My perspective is the one-minute chart, feeling for the trending day, long or short. And I do find testing over only six months to be reliable. But not three. And I find that optimized profit targets vary over those time scales.

    Market noise

ProfLogic, you obviously are no mathematician. The first step to understanding price action is acepting that there is NO noise.

    How far to backtest intraday?

Agreed. But market makers are slightly higher on the evolutionary scale.

    How far to backtest intraday?

Six months. Things change. Strategies breathe.

    Market noise

Perhaps because the concept of "noise" is stupid. From an information theory viewpoint, it's ALL signal.

    In-Sample? Out-of-Sample? "Simple" Sample?

FWIW I test on one minute data. But 3.5 years of it? IMO that seriously risks blurring the efficacy of a strategy by averaging in the migration of it over that time. IMO strategies "breathe."

    In-Sample? Out-of-Sample? "Simple" Sample?

You didn't specify the time duration of the sample period, which to me is important. Not really answering your question, but two things. First, three variables is IMO two too many, unless two of them are stop loss and profit target. Second, I have never liked two-stage testing. I test over a...

Any Day Trader Over the Age of 65?

OK. Let's cut the bullshit. The question "Will I still be trading at 65?" really means "Will my dick still get hard at 65?" The answer? Yes, you can still trade at 65.

Any Day Trader Over the Age of 65?

Just turned 65. Trade every day. Wife says I have to buy my own booze.
