You might be getting Pacing Violation error from IB. My unauthorized quick fix method... shut down both TWS and MC (including QM), then restart. This will reset whatever ills at the IB side and allows you to start afresh.

note edit: To get backfill data, go to File --> Preferences..., Data Server Mode --> check the box for "Download missing historical data". Look at the top of the chart, after the symbol, it should say "Backfilling...". IB is a bit slow on backfills. Don't get upset on MC. tips: on...
