You never mentioned what are the operations you'll do with your time series. Would it be sequential reads on one symbol at a time? No relation between symbols? If this is the case, then switching to a database (RDBMS) might not be the best solution. Also, never mentioned why you want to change...

I love these unhealthy stuff.... Volatility is the friend of day traders. Worst thing is when nothing is moving. Up, down, it doesn't matter, as long as it moves.

Your past system statistics are taking from backtest I presume? If this is the case, then the answer is 'no'. Otherwise, is your system taken long positions only?

+1 Having and seeing friends is the way to go. That's in theory. In practice, friends are not that easy to find and keep. And with the covid restrictions, it's even more complicated...

On some exchanges (like BOX), COB and single leg order book interact together. When this happens, the leg order book has priority (In fact, it's a bit more complicated than that!!). BOX calculates implied orders from the interaction of the COB and regular order book.

Short term traders only care about volatility. And recently, it's been great on that side.
