FYI: IB is experiencing technical difficulties in Customer Service.

Just received this bulletin from them. Apparently, it has no impact on their platform. Enjoy the day!

    Looking bad, Real Bad

You should be happy with your position, not the reverse, since you made some dough. The goal is to make money, not to make all the available money.

It's trading times like these that this is why we need 24/7 trading

If 6-7 hours a day, 5 days a week is not enough, I doubt that 24 hours a day, 7 days a week would change anything...

Able to trade small accounts successfully but fail when account size is large

You need first to find why you are failing with a 5 figure account and not with a small account. Not sure what type of instrument you are trading, but for some, a 5 figure account is not considered as a big account. Some potential reasons why your results differ: - Psychological (fear of losing...

Trading Index Futures via MetaTrader 4

Ok fair enough. The title thread is a bit misleading then. I have no idea about the differences in trading futures vs CFD (hope you do!). If you're trading CFDs and want to learn about trading futures, not sure if that will get you there. I have personally no interest in CFDs. So I'll just...

Trading Index Futures via MetaTrader 4

What trading instrument are you referring to? SPX500 is the index, but it doesn't trade by itself.

    Java/Linux advantages for algo trading

That depends a lot on your abilities as a developer. Interfacing a system to your broker for order management using their API is not a big thing. I know many developers who can do that in a couple of days without too many trouble (been there done that!).

S&P500 pierced 50 week MA for the first time in almost exactly 2 years

So, you are now shorting the market? Or are you just bragging about it? Each week, for the last 6-7 years, there is a guy saying that the market will crash. Just do a quick search on this forum. It will happen for sure. When? Don't know. Maybe it will start next week, maybe next month, next...

    Trade Durations

You don't chose the 'trade duration'. You chose when to exit an opened position. And that's 'THE QUESTION'. When to exit is the most important question we should ask because we make or lose money only when we exit a position.

    Java/Linux advantages for algo trading

I would say, it doesn't matter. You should concentrate your energy in making money, not in choosing which language is best. The best language would be the one you are the most comfortable with. The language you chose will not make any difference on how much money you will make as a retail...

When Russia invades, go ALL IN...

It's not because you were not wrong that you were right!!! You should have removed the Russian part in your forecast.

    Five Basic Laws of Stupidity

Not sure why you are bringing that subject (again!), cause it was covered not too long ago, and you replied to it on top of that. https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/5-laws-of-stupidity.364637/ r.

    Does this business exist?

Collective2 is doing that. I don't know them, so I don't have any opinion about them.

Setting limits orders more than total balance

I couldn't say about 'if touched' orders. It depends a lot about which stock exchange the orders is routed to. But I'd say that your situation would be the same for any type of orders.

which data vendor provides level 2 via api connection?

IQFeed is one of them. https://iqfeed.net/

Setting limits orders more than total balance

All your orders are sent to a stock exchange (assuming you meant stock!). Your broker doesn't have any control on which order could be filled once they reach the exchange order book. It would say that all brokers do the same thing.

Manual trading/Coding/Bots/etc Seeing if any traders or people want to team up in some regard.

Not sure why you want another developer as you already have one with decades of experience. Coding bots and automated systems doesn't require a full team of developers. Just one is required (been there, down that). The hard part is finding a profitable system.

    Small Funded(Live-Sim) Account Journal

On the contrary, it will be a very good day for day-trading, with lots of volatility. Not like yesterday, where the market wasn't moving much.
