any software backtesting options stratetgy and automatically trading it

It says so on the interactivebrokers website somewhere, I remember seeing it a week or two ago, but I can't seem to find it. There was also a link to it in one of the threads, which I can't find either.:) I think it applies only to retail traders, not market makers.

Yes, 1000 shares is 10 contracts. Jul 30 calls were at 1.32 bid as of 04/09 closing. That's per option. Options trade in contracts, where 1 contract is 100 shares so the price of 1 contract is 132, and 10 contracts would be 1,320. The options will not be exercised if they are OTM, they...

    Newbie question

Ok, I had a look at the IV chart and based on what I see the IV has dropped by about 100 basis points in the last week or so, which confirms my intial reply. Married put works at expiry! You need to hold the position to expiry to have a fully hedged position (less premium paid, of course)...

    Newbie question

There're not enough details to give you a full answer, but the most likely reason for the "underperformance" is the decrease in implied volatility.

    Stock repair strategy

The strikes to buy/sell depend on how much "repair" you want and what the current premiums are. Just open up the chains and test the various alternatives.

    Stock repair strategy

Since you mentioned that you are familiar with the long stock repair strategy then I assumed you are talking about the call ratio spread that is added to the long stock to "repair" it. In a long stock repair I'm referring to you buy a call at a lower strike and short two calls at a higher...
