Betting on higher interest rates - how?

How would eurodollar move above 100? Interest rates cannot fall below zero!

    3D position modelling tool

You can do all of the above in TOS, but not in 3D. While 3D is fancy, I don't think it is more useful than 2D, or that you will be able to see more in a 3D image than in 2D, but that's just me.

There's no dedicated forum, but I think you can ask the questions here or use the chat rooms within the platform.

    No. Yes.

Covered call vs. short in-the-money put?

You can sell futures/etfs to hedge a short put just as well. The only difference is that in a cc you sell an existing position and with a put you create a new short position. And I wouldn't even recommend a cc to a beginner since it has an awful risk/reward - limited upside and "unlimited"...

    A zero cost collar?

Here we go again... Before we get into a heated debate about this for the umpteenth time, let's just say that for the purpose of this thread it is valid.

    A zero cost collar?

A collar is nothing more than a long vertical call spread, so what's the point of making 3 trades when you can achieve the same thing with 2!?

Are naked puts really this safe????

I completely agree, if you can't trade around a situation like this you shouldn't be trading!

Why SHLD December PUTs so expensive?

That's why I'm always sceptical of any mispricing, because it usually means I'm missing some piece of information. Thanks for the info OneChicago.

Are naked puts really this safe????

Whatever helps you get to sleep at night... If you are so sure then why are you wasting time posting here, when you can be out there selling far OTM puts and reaping huge profits!?

Why SHLD December PUTs so expensive?

Don't you think it's too obvious for such a mispricing to remain!? I bet your broker is not the only who has shares avaible.

    Sharpe ratio

It obviously depends on the location of the distribution.

    Sharpe ratio

I know that the tail is to the left. This means that there's some probability of an extreme loss, i.e. getting wiped out by a "black swan" event. By the way, by saying that you are actually making an assumption that the majority of returns are positive, which may or may not be true. You can have...

    Option Trading Strategies

Options are not really designed for daytrading because of the relatively wide bid-ask spread. So all the multi-leg strategies are not a very good candidate for daytrading, either. The penny pricing has made them more daytrading-friendly, but I think futures are more suitable.

    Sharpe ratio

T-dist. is used as well. The point is that Sharpe ratio assumes normal or t-dist, and most strategies are not, so blindly using Sharpe ratio can be misleading. Why would you want to have a negative skew!? Negative skew means signficant losses. You want a positive skew distribution! Can't...
