More Trading Equals More Success Sooner

Not sure I understand. You can’t just increase activity for no reason. Opportunity , as defined by your method, either presents itself or it doesn’t. What you are asking sounds more like forcing trades aka overtrading.

    How? With what purpose?

Execution speed of Dastrader, Sterling, RealTick?

The problem with connecting via IB TWS api is that if you try route order to specific exchange, there’s an extra fee. If you route to SMART, there’s no fee. Maybe irrelevant for most people. I believe DAS users are not subject to this fee since DAS doesn’t use TWS api. Glad to be corrected on...

Trading from Puerto Rico. Anyone actaully doing it?

I wander how trading fits under below Employee requirement: Under the new law, exempt businesses that generate an annual business volume of at least $3,000,000 must also directly employ at least one full-time employee.

Looking to connect with traders in Puerto Rico

@787trader, the Luchi guy I posted the interview with was building out an office to trade at. Do you know anything about it?

    Dunning Kruger Effect

Nothing new here, but good advice. Kind of unexpected from this channel. Also new phrase to me - Mind is an excellent Server, but a terrible Master.

How do I subscribe to nyse open book and imbalance data?

It would be too expensive. Are you sure you need NYSE OpenBook - full depth feed?

Looking into Robinhood Traders - what makes them so special...

If that all it takes, why they couldn't hire some wiz kid in pajamas to promote? They could've created a separate entity to just promote the app. I think it's the same old story ... established companies are resting on their laurels until someone disrupts the status quo. Zero commissions was...

How do I subscribe to nyse open book and imbalance data?

I don't think TOS allows you to subscribe to full depth books, at least not on my version. On IB, you can subscribe to both imbalances and NYSE OpebBook.

Looking into Robinhood Traders - what makes them so special...

I’m not RH customer, but when Apple came out with iPod, I could not see why people went crazy for that overpriced gadget. RH obviously captured their target audience. More interesting question to me, why established brokers with existing, and seemingly better, mobile apps didn’t?

How do I subscribe to nyse open book and imbalance data?

Subscribe to be displayed on your platform or to be processed by your own application?

Yeah, that’s a big problem! Given a choice, I would choose competitive environment.

    Am I fooling the algo's?

I think @IAS_LLC got it. Sounds like someone was accumulating contracts in that price range and your order participated in that, getting some avg price fill for the whole block(guessing here). Would be interesting to know condition codes for the trades. Maybe you can post specifics and someone...

    Am I fooling the algo's?

I am confused ... are you lowering your ask from .40 to .35 and getting filled at .41?

Nasdaq's Summary of the SEC’s Proposed Changes to the National Market System

This has to do with odd-lots which are currently not protected. The proposal is actually good for retailers trading odd lot shares of higher priced stocks - more protection.

Nasdaq's Summary of the SEC’s Proposed Changes to the National Market System

Generally speaking, NASDAQ has been good for industry, including retail, compared to the monopolistic NYSE. I suspect what they are proposing is what the SEC wants, but it should appear as coming from the industry.
