Question about what trades print to the tape

You are getting too deep. Can’t take cheap/crappy data source and expect it to be precise. Basically, when exchange data consolidators (SIPs) send trades, they are marked as to whether they should be included in volume calculations or not. These indicators are usually not passed through. If...

Trying to locate which prop firm purchased my automated trading system

No prop firm will discuss anything with you. As @trend2009 said, find a way to trade it yourself

Trying to locate which prop firm purchased my automated trading system

Shouldn’t you be suing your x-partner? He would be forced to disclose, no?

40 limit order signals but only have 10 positions available

Maybe you can create stop limit orders which are only triggered when stock trades through certain price. This way, orders are held at IB until triggered. I am not sure if this can work with IB. Easy to test.

Guru's pursuit of the Holy Grail

When I first read the title, I thought you were just joking. Just to be clear, you mean you found an edge, right?

Another newb looking for advice. :)

If you sign up for Warrior chat, you will get trade ideas showing on his screen. He has so many YouTube videos that watching them and watching him trade live is better than paying upfront, imho. His strategy is difficult to trade though and getting so popular that it will stop working. But I...

That would definitely suck. @Baron, not even a poll thread on this decision?

why are there no other brokers compete directly with IB?

Not everything can be simply coded. For example taking on foreign customers, providing market data via api, clearing, etc. IB seems to have some weight and relationships with exchanges and regulators that smaller firms may never have.
  9. Q

why are there no other brokers compete directly with IB?

It’s not that they don’t want to, they can’t. It seems IB accumulated lots of useful features over the years which would be costly to implement because they are needed by some but not the majority of retail and semi-pro traders (even many pros). People who need serious automated trading, for...

How to Let Your Winning Trades Run: Got ideas?

One way to do this is to have three separate sub accounts : day, swing, and hodl. You naturally trade larger size in day account. So let’s say you are long 1000 shares and you are nicely profitable by the end of day. Sell half and move remaining 500 to swing. Let’s say stock keeps moving up and...

Drowning deep underwater TSLA SEP25 470/460 Credit Spread

I don’t think this was answered, and since I would like to understand it myself, I will give it a shot. If you close your long put leg, but keep the short leg, the most you can still loose is 1.20 but if the stock rallies you stand to recoup all/most your losses. So you can think about this as...

any broker to provide API and direct access to ECN ?

How about you run another Algo for the sole purpose of getting your fill rate up? If you use low priced stock and capture rebates, all it has to do is break even.
  15. Q

any broker to provide API and direct access to ECN ?

It’s a rule of thumb ... you can negotiate if you do enough volume. Do you really need position in queue? In other words, can your Algo be smarter in only submitting orders when they have a better chance to be filled?
  16. Q

any broker to provide API and direct access to ECN ?

Anything below 2% fill rate will be unwelcome. At the least you will be asked to pay extra. If you are using IB, you must not be very latency sensitive, so paying for Lime may be overkill, but check with them @Robert Morse

Execution speed of Dastrader, Sterling, RealTick?

Not sure if link will work https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/index.php?f=1590&p=stocks2 I also confirmed with their rep some time ago. Their smart router is very flexible though, so should not be an issue for most.

    Earn2Trade Founder Charged With Fraud

@destriero, we see (desperate) people here on ET looking for funding and mentorship. What choice do they have? These firms offer a service with rules of the game fully disclosed. To me, having an option always better. Otherwise people end up finding real scammers and get taken for a lot more.

    Earn2Trade Founder Charged With Fraud

Not the main point of this discussion, but for completeness. Talking about equities. My understanding is that to deal with prop firms, a US citizen must be licensed. So they create educational arm to take retail (non pro) customers in and if you pass, you would need to get licensed prior to...
