Trump itching to fire the fed

I don't agree. That's what Putin controlled media spits out. People who compare dictatorships with America clearly have not experienced the difference. If you stick your head out too much, you will get it chopped off. So maybe regular life vs. worse or no live. What would you chose?

How do I get a job at proprietary trading firm?

I like what you are saying, but not sure you can compare what you can learn on your own with professional trading. It's like getting good at miniature golf and thinking you are on the same level as PGA players. Although, I don't think prop firms is the best place to learn "the tricks of the...

Trump itching to fire the fed

To me, it's all posturing. Possible outcomes: A. Economy stalls - we were doing great until thr Fed interfered and we tried to stop it. B. Economy keeps chugging along - we are doing be such a great job even with the Fed interfering. There is absolutely no downside in President criticizing the Fed.

Does market profile system have the potential for generating good retruns ?

Lol, so true. I would just say that learning different tools/indicators is still useful in understanding how market particupants slice and dice information. Just don't spend too much time on it, it's all hypothetical and generalized, imho

Does market profile system have the potential for generating good retruns ?

I was a part of options trading room where the trader is using MP. However, that trader's edge, imo, is really coming from having a great feel for the market. That feel comes from experience. Once you have that, you can say that the alignment of the stars spoke to you, and it will appear so :)

Stock Exchanges to Test Trading Minus Rebates Seen as Posing Conflict

Which broker holds your directed limit order? Maybe if you use smart route? Still, has nothing to do with exchanges rebates.

Profitable on paper, losing money live! Fear plays a big role.

I played around with capturing /ZB spread while hedging with 2 /ZN. The idea was that I will either capture the spread or I will close out both positions. The reason I wanted to hedge instead of simply taking a stop, is to hedge against a sudden adverse move. Hedging is expensive :)

Profitable on paper, losing money live! Fear plays a big role.

Agree with you on most things, but not this. If I could back test my discretionary rules, I would simply automate it and forward test it. It's too much context dependent. I can automate parts of it (mechanics like smarter trailing, etc), but I still need to make go or no go decision based on...

Profitable on paper, losing money live! Fear plays a big role.

Until then, you are to be judged by how well you execute your CURRENT rules. And stop trading live when conditions are not "familiar"

Profitable on paper, losing money live! Fear plays a big role.

Being discretionary trader does not mean no rules. You should absolutely have rules as far as execution of your strategy is concerned. Discretionary means you are not rigid with your rules and use context and gut/experience to override your rules at times ... like a filter. But entries...
