Yes, but the real world we live in ... better or worse? I say any opportunity to get funded is better than no opportunity. Suckers/Dreamers/Gamblers will find a way to loose their money with or without these companies being here.

@tommcginnis, do you think the trading world would be better without these businesses and the opportunities they provide? High failure rate is well publicised and is expected, so nobody is really tricking anyone here.

Great interview below ... confirming my belief that computers help to confirm/refine/enhance/monetize one's trading edge, but not an edge in itself. Many good lessons that retailers can easily implement ... "What should have happened vs. What did happen!" End of the interview talks...

Don't try to compete with them maybe? You have lots of options as a retailer with not the least important of them having the option not to play at all. It's kind of like Mom&Pop store letting Amazon do it's thing day to day but opening their shop around the holidays.

I would use google finance and do ask-bid ... Assuming you didn't want to pay for real time data, 15 min samples should produce good enough list of tradable stocks.

Ok thanks. I think it's working now but I will check on Monday. The issue is more prevalent at the open where the quotes are more likely to be off.

OK, so the IEX fiasco was due to the All-or-None option on my orders. Will report back once there is enough evidence that Post-Only option works.

Oh, thanks for that ... didn't even know these existed. Although I send orders via api so I can choose what to set on each order. I made a change yesterday to send orders as All-or-none and I think it's messing things up. Why do you say that "Post Only" needs to be OFF?

Well, that didn't work out at all ... all orders got routed to IEX :vomit: which doesn't even have any rebates! Back to old configuration - SMART maximize rebate - mostly routed to PSX with 0.0023 rebate (nice!) So my question remains unanswered ... how to make sure the orders are post-only...

I am not using them but generally speaking: A) Don't request all at once ... Send requests 1000 at a time with 1 second delay in between. B) if they allow, use multiple sockets where each is responsible for a range (A-L, M-Z) All initialization needs to be done prior to market open.

I doubt the proposed pilot will even happen, much less the actual maker/taker model going away.

So you would fund a guy who was down $3k to make $300? Ok, how much money would you allocate to such strategy? Is it ok to risk 3MM to make consistent $300k? Martingale away then. Well, that is the lure of the siren, isn't it ... Market rewards you for doing the wrong thing.
