Singapore GDP overtakes the entire Federation of Malaysia.

It's difficult to comment on this. Mainland Chinese companies are naturally attracted to Hong-Kong. So, most of the Chinese grouth is projected there. Indian companies prefer to list locally or in London. I can't comment on shopping but seafood omlettes in Singapore are delicious.

looks like IBKR looking to acquire Tradestation

It might not be a full-blown acquisition yet. Maybe IB are just getting enough shares to sit on the board... and maybe market their execution service. If acquisition actually does happen, it's the Tradestation customers who will mostly be affected. For IB customers it will be business as...

    CISCO Trail of tears.

Asmittedly, acquisitions tend to benefit CEO's of both companies but shareholder benefits are not always so obvious. One of the best examples is the acquisition of Compaq by HP a few years back. HP shareholders got a piece of desktop building business with razor-thin margins in exchange for a...

What charting software is the best?

First, this is not software, this is the streaming data. Exchanges inevitably provide valuable data which is not valid trade data: hence need for filtering. Some data providers filter tick data, which means inevitably a small amount of valid data gets filtered out. A number of providers...

This is very interesting! One thing we should take note of is Singapore economy is mainly financial services... and Singapore is one of the most welcoming nations in the world for money with shady source and/or ownership. There is capital punishment for trafficking drugs through...

The Web-site has some good info, mostly for total beginners. Know Your Odds Before You Trade is one of the best layman's introductions to daytrading. I have no idea how good the "paid-for" content is.

"According to a Securities and Exchange Commission 13-D filing on Thursday, IBG Holdings, which owns Interactive Brokers Group (IBKR), and its founder and chief executive Thomas Peterffy, bought 2.56 million shares of TradeStation for roughly $17 million. One market participant, who declined...

looks like IBKR looking to acquire Tradestation

Interesting, looks like Tradestation has suffered enough from the current economic downturn to become attractive investment. I wish IB bought the Tradestation platform and integrated it (including the datafeed) with their current platform... We'll see how it unfolds.

Would a hedge fund every be interested in a system

If you have a year-long history of trading the system with 1,000 shares, that's a good start to get potential investors interested. However, if 1,000 shares is the maximum you can scale up the strategy, it's just too small to get under the larger funds' radar. Naturally, potential investors will...

    Delaware or the Caymans?

The answer depends on your specific circumstances. Without knowing them it's impossible to provide relevant advice. You didn't mention if you want to set up a prop firm, hedge fun, a company to trade your own funds etc. I also suggest you consult and attorney and/or an accountant. For US...

    Bar based Autotrading

As Eight has mentioned, a few platforms work with intra-bar updates, which are fully backtestable. One of the ways to look at it is on every tick you assume it could be the last tick of the bar. So, you perform all calculations as if it is indeed the last tick.
