QE2 to destroy EUR and EU

IB: why I was charged for removing liquidity (RE: options)???

Good choice! This could have been an execution algorithm glitch that they may want to fix. Alternatively, there is always an option to send an order to a specific exchange. The downside, is (I think) such an order will be disqualified from "unbundled" commission structure.

Warren Buffett "George W. Bush, I give him great credit for leading"

    - I narrowed your choices down to 5 unthinkable options. Each will cause untold misery... - (interrupts) I pick number three - You don't wanna read them first? - I was elected to lead, not to read. (yells) Number three! "Simpsons the Movie"...

Brokers who do not fill limit orders at non-best bid/ask

I believe the combination of these 2 steps would be illegal. Brokers have fiduciary duty to send client orders to the exchange before the broker's own orders. There are precedents of "big name" banks successfully sued for it by individuals. This is for equities. Futures and options orders...

IB: why I was charged for removing liquidity (RE: options)???

Forum members can write many pages of posts guessing what happened. The broker actually knows what happens. If you actually asked IB support and got some reply, please post some details of the reply. It will be helpful for anyone with the same problem in the future. The "online chat" is...

Brokers who do not fill limit orders at non-best bid/ask

One of the reasons to avoid "internalization" in equities is a trader may loose the payment for adding liquidity. In futures, I believe, internalized orders are illegal in the US. Edit: You may occasionally get "improved" price on a limit order on an exchange. It's not evideance of...

QE2 to destroy EUR and EU

First, these countries collect taxes in EUR. So, the dollar exchange rate makes no difference. Second, I belive the impact of the exchange rate on tax revenues from exports will be minor. The countries you listed don't live off export to the US. Ireland had massive exports to the US before...

Lots of funds are called after a street or a place. Just pick your favourite. Or after founders. If you are not comfortable with your name sticking out you can make an acronym from the initials.

After bad news & big dip, chances of recovery before end-of-day?

It rarely fully recovers the same day unless positive news comes out later on... but as Jokepie has pointed out it may well recover in the next few days or even overnight. Edit: ES Journal is probably a better place to ask this question.

Evidence Soros bought gold while telling everyone its a bubble

Fair point. Apparently buying into a bubble is popular among fund managers. See an earlier thread Jim Rogers: Euro doomed but 'I bought some recently'

Evidence Soros bought gold while telling everyone its a bubble

Indeed. If you add up figures from the article Soros's fund holds 679 mln in shares of 2 gold ETFs and is long further 92 mln via call options.

Purchasing $6 billion to $8 billion of U.S. government debt today as part of QE2.

For comparison: 1. US Treasury owns around 11 bln worth of gold (link) 2. George Soros's fund owns 0.68 bln worth of gold via ETFs and is long further 0.09 bln via call options (link)

Prop firm asking for source code and strategy??

I understand Limitdown hints that a number of "automated traders" don't have any skill at either trading manually or at developing trading systems. They just have a system they purchased from a developer or "borrowed" from a past employer.

Thailand calls on Asia-Pacific region to dump USD as reserve currency, adopt Yuan.

This is the main reason behind the prime minister's statement. He wants China to relax currency controls and offers using renminby in currency reserves as a bait. Currently, China prohibits taking renminby out of the country and bank accounts in renminby cannot be opened outside China (except...

IB: why I was charged for removing liquidity (RE: options)???

IB: why I was charged for removing liquidity (RE: options)???

2 possibilities: 1) It wasn't a limit order but was, say, market if touched 2) Due to IB "smart routing" the order was not placed on the exchange in advance and in fact not sent to the exchange till it happened to remove liquidity. In any case, it's best to ask IB about that.
