IB: why I was charged for removing liquidity (RE: options)???

That's interesting... Have you tried routing the orders directly to the exchange in question? If you specify the way you want an order to be routed, you don't loose unbundled commissions, do you? One thing that confuses me about your situation is I believe options (unlike equities) cannot be...

Ron Paul: Crotch Groped by TSA, Calls for Boycott of Airlines

The big thing here is If (and it is still "if") the latter part of the statement happens, that will be the largest relaxation of Chinese currncy control since when Hong_Kong residents were allowed to open accounts in Yuan earlier this year. The fact that Russia is not among largest trade...

Ron Paul: Crotch Groped by TSA, Calls for Boycott of Airlines

From the interview Ron Paul says: "I just do not believe that this [TSA and additional airport security] has made any of us any safer. That is what I am convinced of."

Best island or place to trade from?

I understand Belgium has zero capital gains tax. For people who appear to the taxman as an investor, zero rate can't be matched. "Quiet"... Brussels certainly feels like a smaller, "provincial" city compared to London, New-York or Paris despite being the "capital of Europe". Maybe part of the...

    IB TWS Old Version Available

First, they "realise" P&L every night. So, if the trade stays overnight the "unrealised" P&L is based on last day's closing price... Edit: If this is something new in 910.9, I can't comment: haven't used this version yet.

Ron Paul: Crotch Groped by TSA, Calls for Boycott of Airlines

I think Ron Paul was lucky to loose 2008 Republican presidential nomination to McCain. After 8 Bush years Obama was a formidable opponenet. However, Look how actively Ron Paul is building his profile now. Judging by the strength of his populism he may become the next President. "According...

China, Russia quit dollar on bilateral trade

That's a big deal. Currently, Renminbi only officially circulates in mainland China and Hong-Kong and Macau and a few South Asian countries. Only in Hong-Kong it's allowed to open Renminbi bank accounts without being involved in trade with China. If Russian companies (and possibly residents)...

Excel and Interactive brokers integration - a questino

I don't use DDE with TWS. I have used it with a charting platform that was reported to have DDE issues on 64-bit Windows 7. Have you tried DDE when logged on as administrator?

    Starting a small managed fund

That's what I thought... Legal services to set up a hedge fund properly will cost in the range of $30k. With $100k capital this cost is absolutely prohibitive. You can do the legel work yourslef... but for any serious investor that may come later this will be a massive glowing red flag. IB...

    IB TWS Old Version Available

It's not like IB has a choice. Till the lawsuit, in which Trading Technologies claims "rapid-entry" DOM is covered by their patent, is resolved, IB has to keep the techology in question (static DOM) out of TWS. It's just a damage-mitigation exercise. In the event TT wins, IB's liability will be...

IB hasn't "forced" an upgrade for a couple of years now. Whenever an automatic upgrade is offered on computer restart you can always choose not to upgrade. In fact, if this bothers you you can always remove "Check for TWS Updates" from Startup folder in the Start menu. I don't understand...
