Still confused, which language i should start learn to design my ATS?

AmiBroker is great for backtesting but I don't recommend it for automated trading. It has trading interface only with IB and even that is in very rudimentary form. (Also AmiBroker has one of those proprietary programming languages I mentioned earlier... though you can connect DLLs to it.) I...

Still confused, which language i should start learn to design my ATS?

I received a private message indicating what I wrote here isn't totally clear. Just to clarify... MQL and EasyLanguage may be easy to learn are NOT "general purpouse" laguages. They exist only as a part of the respective charting/backtesting/trading platform(s). If you learn C++, Delphi or...

Still confused, which language i should start learn to design my ATS?

Amibroker offers a very concise trading strategy develoment laguage (which means you do less typing and it's easier to read). Its backtester speed is unparallelled (I am not exagerrating). On the other hand, it's possible to create forward-looking systems if you are not careful and for automatic...

Why there are so many replies here bashing women?

The cartoons I found so far are extremely grim. In thr proces I also found this "not exactly Thurber" cartoon: I have developed an unhealthy habbit of reading verything on the computer screen. In view of this availability of e-books is extremely helpful.

Growing AUM with "first loss" funds

Pretty much there is a league office that keeps records. Of course, the numbers are whatever funds publish themselves. http://www.hedgefundintelligence.com/

Why there are so many replies here bashing women?

I like the picture. Thanks for posting it. It seems like it may have more interesting interpretations than what's immediately obvious. Thurber's books sound like my type of reading. Add a few stories from the author's life on top and it may be some of the most enjoyable read. I guess when you...

CTA -- How to become Automated?

First, if you are running automated strategies, the most important thing for investors is reliability. They may be ready to stomach a loss due to strategy not performing but explaining why you missed the stop-loss due to sloppy internet connection is far less convincing. Second, if your...

IB threatens to close my account

Are you aware of any prop that offers conditions not worse than IB in any single category? Including 100% payout and your money is yours... you can take all of it out the day you join the prop. Not to mention being rated with S&P, Moody's or Fitch

Why there are so many replies here bashing women?

Haha! Very good point. How could I have missed it? Do you recommend reading some of this Thurber guy? Could be more powerful stuff than "Men are from Mars, women are from Venus".

Growing AUM with "first loss" funds

This explains why hedge fund investors are usually interested in assets in a particular fund as much as in the total assets managed by the fund manager in question.

I guess ElectricSavant on Instaforex forums is the same poster as on ET.

Why there are so many replies here bashing women?

I see this thread is failing miserably at sparking the usual flame war. Perhaps, Latinotrader is the only one who finds the staement in the opening post surprising.

IB threatens to close my account

That's the best advice. Why force IB servers to do it when your code can take the load? This is a large commission but I expect IB passed a large part of it to relevant exchanges/ECN. In any case, there is no harm in asking IB if they could wave the restriction for you.

Just another trading platform - But this time different!

If we are talking that everything developed for the platform has to be in a symbolic language, I can't agree with you more. Not only a few people have as strong views on what language is "the best" as Mhtrader but also new platform users are likely to come with masses of legacy code thay may...

Just another trading platform - But this time different!

If a user can code the whole "platform", it doesn't necessarily mean that this us where the "payout" is the highest. Like you point in your earlier post, a user could start with coding a text editor... but this isn't where added value is. The reasons to use an existing platform are to take...
