its But don't listen to him -- he's just trying to get a rise out of you.

2nd to last post as "Gordon Gekko" ever.

I'll be the first to admit that one of the reasons I came here was probably for the attention. It is great to have people respond to your posts and receive attention from so many people all over the place. Getting attention isn't going to get you anywhere unless you're funny and can get a...

Do you want to get rid of the counter?

I'd say we just set everyone's posts at 100 and configure it to count down. When someone gets to 0, that's it -- you don't post anymore. You must then send Baron $10 for another 100 posts credit.

    Congrats to Nitro!

I would like to be the first to congratulate Nitro on getting to 4,000 posts. Although he hasn't gotten there yet, he will within a few more posts. At one point Mr. Don Bright was at the top of the list and I was quickly approaching him. Then, like a super rocket, Nitro sped ahead at Warp...

Optional should be banned... total disgrace!

Wow Gann, you started drinking even earlier than I did. I started when Kindergarden was getting too stressful.

Didn't you say in a previous post to TM Isn't that an assumption? Pot Kettle Black?

    Speed of Light

At the source of everything, the two might be intimately linked. Most religions rely on faith while science relies on observation, hypothesis testing, confirmation and the ability to be repeated over and over. If I drop a hammer, I know it will fall down due to gravity and from the...

    Speed of Light

Well, I don't think of it so much as being "wrong" but moreso being in a state of constant flux. If you take the Greek civilization for example, they once divided the world into 4 basic elements -- fire, air, earth and water. This description of reality fit their everyday existence well...

    Speed of Light

I believe one of the more accurate measurements made was by using mirrors placed on the moon during the Apollo missions. A laser beam was shot at the moon and reflected back. The amount of time it took the light to return was used to calculate the speed of light to a high degree of accuracy.

    Speed of Light

Independent to the observer is the same thing as saying, "it depends on the observer." Perhaps you should have spent more time practicing reading comprehension and less time differentiating equations?

    Kazaa

I wish I thought of their business model -- Sue a bunch of college kids who have no money for illegally copying something they wouldn't have bought anyway. In the process, generate this image of being greedy and anti-consumer. Let's just blame the slump in CD sales on P2P networks and not the...

So what you are really saying is that this is, indeed, your last post?

    Speed of Light

The concept of time and space and how they are actually related was amazingly difficult for me to understand. For instance, Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity and General Theory of Relativity state that time is independent to the observer. Now, although light from the furthest reaches...

    I Can't Stand The Moderating!!!!!!

Every moderator is going to be different. I personally could care less about light swearing if it adds to the content of the post -- however it is, by the rule book, not allowed. Its like getting pulled over. Some cops will let you off with a warning while other cops will give you a ticket...

What do you think of this story?

Vegetarians have no problem eatting plants because they don't feel that plants are living organisms. Its ok to grow plants in the ground and then chop them up and eat them, but it is a mortal sin to slice and dice a cow. So it would seem that the more evolved the organism is or the higher...
