    Discretionary vs fully Systematic

I'm probably one of those whos brain isn't capable of doing that. I know from my experience that I get into less trouble when I follow my rules. :)

How to become a successful trader?

I'm not sure if your numbers are correct but they sound almost reasonable. The monitoring part implies that the trader has a plan, has someone else checking to see that he has the discipline to follow the plan and reviews why the trader deviated from the plan.

Boomers Got Hooked on Stocks. Now They Can’t Let Go.

My strategy started to take me out of the market in late 2007, same thing in late 2019. I'll admit I never got a buy signal at the bottom, nor did I expect to. I slowly got back in when a new trend was established. Where are you getting your 5 year performance? I use stockcharts.com perf charts...

Boomers Got Hooked on Stocks. Now They Can’t Let Go.

The people I know all stuck their heads in the sand and waited during 2008/09. Most advisors are long term buy and hold trained. I don't know any who reccommended selling at that time. As for the mutual fund companies the three main ones AGF.b, CIX and IMF have outperfromed the XIU for the last...

Boomers Got Hooked on Stocks. Now They Can’t Let Go.

I agree. I was responding to @The_Krakenite who said the boomers he talked to don't own any stocks. I was curious as to what they invested in. The people I know have registered plans that are managed and don't really know what's in the portfolio.

Congress demands more oversight in Gary Gensler in SBF connection...

The arguement seems to be is BTC a security or a commodity? What if it is a currency? It's legal tender in El Salvador. Who regulates currency trading in the US?

    Trader accounting

I would think that spending 3 grand to have your taxes done for a trading income of 30 grand is excessive. I would suggest spending a little time to study the tax system and then do your own taxes with the help of one of the commercial tax softwares available.

Great returns in my opinion. If you only had a 3% drawdown you are doing really well.

Bitcoin Bonanza on Tap if BlackRock ETF Is Approved

I use stock charts.com. They show 1st trading day as 19th of Oct. What a difference a day makes. :) But you are right BTC does seem to be just ahead of BITO. (My bad) Both seem to be down over 50% in the time frame you referenced. Only have to gain over 100% to be at breakeven.

I don't know. Probably both if it results in them making money, the ultimate goal. All the more reason to trade rather than HODL.

Bitcoin Bonanza on Tap if BlackRock ETF Is Approved

They all go to the same schools, learn the same thing, belong to the same organizations and have the same goal in view. Whether it is equities or crypto the goal is to accumulate, mark up, and distribute. Rince and repeat.

Bitcoin Bonanza on Tap if BlackRock ETF Is Approved

Both BITO in the US and BTCC in Canada have outperformed the underlying BTC over the lst couple of years. Once you have ETFs okayed in the US the wall street giants will be able to manipulate the market. Good for traders not so much for the HODL crowd.

Can you explain how you don't have a loss. You have 43,800 invested and you received 720 in premium. If the stock drops to 350 and you write another option(say 10 bucks OTM) and get another 720 in premium and get called at 360. You now have 36,000 in cash plus the option premiun of 1440 for a...

What if anything are they investing in? Pretty well everyone I know has some sort of TFSA or RRSP that is probably managed by a financial advisor (Mutual fund salesperson) or their employer. If they have some sort of company pension plan they are probably invested in stocks. Canada pension plan...
