    Should i put 300k into an S&P 500 ETF?

Not 30 but I have since I changed strategy 20 years ago, without the huge drawdowns. You will have to take my word for it as I'm not going to the trouble of getting an audit to prove it. You can backtest a simple ma cross startegy on a weekly chart using a 10 and 30 sma.

What is your way of identifying trend reversals?

To identify a trend reversal, draw a chart and ask a 6 year old!!

    Should i put 300k into an S&P 500 ETF?

It depends on if you can stomach the ups and downs. I couldn't. I retired early with what I thought was a reasonable nest egg just before the Tech Wreck in 2001. I watched the account drop by 50%. I didn't sell at the bottom and after a few years it recovered although some of the individual...

    Technical analysis

All I can suggest is what worked for me. Watch the market. Develope a set of rules you can live with. Keep your losses to a minimum. I live off my speculation profits. If I have a bad year I have enough capital to survive.

Using Losing Trades as an Indicator

If you follow your strategy, take your losses as planned, a losing trade is a good trade with a bad outcome. You can't win them all. It's quite possible to lose more than 50% of your trades and still make money.

I believe it was LBR that said she could give you her trading plan and you probably wouldn't be able to trade it because you wouldn't trust it. I suppose you can't buy trading success, you have to earn it.

    Technical analysis

Thanks Mike; It seems that Granat outperformed the S&P by quite a bit. I couldn't find much more. Retired in 2015 and trades her own account. Why do you doubt that she knows how to trade. Her books are quite expensive. nowhere near best sellers. I at one time believed that there was a secret...

They want me to sign up to read whatever is there. I got enough clutter on my computer already. Can you summarize whats said or paste a screen shot. Was LBR actually trading for Granat or were they just using her strategies?

    Tesla 2023

I couldn't agree more. I'm curious how you came up with 315 as a target? From what I can find the analysts have an average target of 242. the high estimate is 350 and the low is 85. The recommendations are 7 strong buys, 1 moderate buy, 15 holds and 3 strong sells. (To me a hold = run like Hell)...

I take it you have tried her strategies without any success. I wonder why you single her out of all the vendors. I believe she is actually one of the few vendors who were actually successful traders. I think Schwager did his research before including her as a market wizard.

Interesting post on increasing SHA256 mining efficiency

Except when it doesn't. Like every thing nobody knows the future. I hope it takes another run. But until it does I'll keep my money in inflation ravaged fiat.

Interesting post on increasing SHA256 mining efficiency

And how did that effect world oil prices? And what does it have to do with Canadian oil sand mining? All I'm saying is that the halving may not have the effect on bitcoin that it had in the past. The hype is over. It's a good trading instrument but not something you want your networth tied up...

Interesting post on increasing SHA256 mining efficiency

Oilsands mining cost has nothing to do with world oil price. If the cost of mining goes up the oil companies shut down unprofitable operations and/or beg for subsidies.

Interesting post on increasing SHA256 mining efficiency

You would think with all this know as a fact that the price of both bitcoin and the bitcoin miners would be increasing. If the cost of mining gold were to double that doesn't mean the demand will double. Gold mining increases when the price increases and falls off when the miners can't make a...

    Does trendline work?

You have to take everything on an anomymous forum with a gain of salt. I wouldn't take anything as gospel with out some sort of audited statement. I keep asking myself why the hell I'm here and the only answer I can come up with is that it's one of the places where I can discuss trading with...
