    Why Traders Lose

Be nice if you justified your opinion showing us why holding QQQ was wrong. It has done quite well since the recovery started back in the spring of 2009. Personally I'd like to see an exit strategy to avoid the next down turn.

    Looking for capital

As a investor I'm mainly interested in how safe is my capital. Can I get my capital out at any time? Are your returns better than a strategy of Buy and Hold SPY. How do you manage risk? How much will it cost me to have you manage my portfolio? I your case with no track record to speak of...

    Why Traders Lose

Pretty well sums it up. If you don't do any of the above you are well on your way to becoming a successful trader.

    Why Traders Lose

No it is that simple. A couple mouse clicks gets you into a trade. If you like you can enter with a bracket order so your exits are already in the system. Set it and forget it. It does not get any simpler. Not really; I do very little research, no fundamental research and enter trades based on...

    Why Traders Lose

I can only speak for myself. I'm well capitalized, I keep my losses small, My expectations are reasonable and I have a plan and feel I have the discipline to follow it. I do much better than buying and holding either QQQ or SPY since I quit buy and hold in 2002. There is nothing wrong with...

Is it possible to make 5% a month in stocks and ETFs ?

I have done it for a couple month in a real time journal here. There was very little interest so I quit posting. I don't do it anymore as my swings have become longer term. I usually double a long term hold of SPY.

    Swing Trading

It is all about choice. Tough choice in a consumer society. Nothing wrong with being frugal and saving for retirement or whatever. One thing I found is that once you develop that habit although you accumulate a lot of wealth you don't enjoy spending it. I've never seen a hearse pulling a...

    Swing Trading

I did the same a few years back. I now spend a few minutes each day looking at the market and making investment decisions. My returns are not significantly different.

About as many as the number of medium income earners that put aside 24% of their income in an investment account and then stay with the program thru 2 major crashes.

Researching how Trader's track/journal their trades

Besides the obvious info I use for tax purposes I also have columns for Set up, (What type of setup I used to enter the trade, I only have 4) and Plan (Whether I followed my trading plan; either yes or no) I can manipulate the data to calculate win/loss percentage overall and by setup. Planned...
