Installed a vid card driver, created a mess

Like osorico said, if you can't see anything before the driver is loaded (PC Power-Up Self-Test & OS boot sequence) then it isn't the driver that is the problem. Re-installing the OS should be no problem if you want to go that route, just boot directly from the XP CD. Personally I would...

Installed a vid card driver, created a mess

Boot XP in Safe Mode (F8 during boot) - that will load the standard windows VGA driver. If that doesn't work then the problem isn't the driver.

New data fees for MB Trading

Since no one else mentioned it, new fees starting Friday: [/B] Its not mentioned in this email but if you go to the site it says that these new data fees can be offset by trades in the corresponding products, e.g. 25 trades/month pays for the CME mini data package.

the END OF THE INTERNET as we know it

Yea, its a great way to get you to click on the video which seemed to be the only point of her being there. As to the premise, sorry but I just don't see it. The value of the internet is the sum of it - if you can only access search engines but you do not have access to actually go to the...

Someone bought 5000 LEH 10 puts for 1.45.

Do you understand how options are priced? If puts become worth $2.00 then the position is profitable. Do you think the stock has to go to $8 for the puts to be worth $2?

There is never any lack of explanations for what triggered a move after the fact.

    Intermittent Drops and Dual Wan

For the purposes of this discussion, changing ISP connections means changing IP addresses since each ISP will be handing out addresses from their own pool. There is no way to change your IP address and maintain a secure connection to your broker. The TCP protocol does not support this. The...

    IB closing inactive accounts.

It appears capricious only because you don't know the reason. I think it would be a mistake to assume that it is. As for them ignoring everything that doesn't rise to the level of being illegal - well as an IB customer myself let's just say that I'm glad that you aren't running the show.

    IB closing inactive accounts.

Something doesn't have to rise to the level of being illegal for IB to want to terminate their relationship with you. There is no inalienable right to a IB account or an explanation on why your account is being closed. Yes, it may be viewed as poor customer service - hardly a first for IB...

Profit from market neutral options writing - possible or not?

Here, let me help, I speak jive: Cutty say he can't HANG!

    IB closing inactive accounts.

There are legitimate reasons why a fraud prevention unit can't explain what you did that caused your account to be red-flagged - making that information available reduces its future effectiveness. E.g. if doing X causes a flag to get raised a malicious person will be sure to not do X to fly...

Profit from market neutral options writing - possible or not?

Knowing which way the market is going to go (or not go) is an obvious edge. And by "know" I mean probabilities, not certainty - e.g. anything that gives you better odds than a random guess about the market direction is an edge. Just like a card counter playing blackjack gets a slim edge by...

Profit from market neutral options writing - possible or not?

If you don't have an edge then you should not expect to make money. If you do have an edge then there is often a multitude of ways of making money. Writing "market neutral options" is not an edge - you need something else.

The cost of the hedge will be proportional to the amount of risk you lay off. There is no free lunch.

    Look like a healthy market?

I don't know what I like better about you, that you mock HedgefundTrader2 and it drives him crazy (and he can't do anything about it) or that other people give serious replies to your posts not realizing that they are replying to someone who is trolling. Its entertaining on both fronts...

    The New South America Union.

Wow, great comeback to the comment about zero nobel prize winners - yea world cup wins certainly is more important sign of a great culture (rolls eyes). Maybe someday you'll learn how to use the handy "quote" function provided by this board instead of doing it by hand every time?

    MBTRADING problem....

Since MBT offers trading in equities, futures and forex it would be great if folks actually mentioned which products/quotes they were talking about in their posts. There is a big difference.

EBAY Changes Feedback System- Sales about to Plummet?

dsq - do you realize that there is a feature of this forum that allows you to automatically quote another poster when you reply? Some of your earlier posts are quite confusing because its not easy to tell what you are quoting and what you have added yourself.
