    Latency and Ping Tests

    It could mean that there is a router (or firewall) that is not only ignoring ICMP packets (ping) but its also blocking them. Post the destination here for confirmation.

    Latency and Ping Tests

    Madhatter, what JackR said is right about that first hop. Looking at the screenshot of your tracert I don't see anything wrong - 30 to 50ms of latency is normal and there are no large jumps indicating a bottleneck. If you have occasional problems then leave pingplotter running...

    for sale by blackguard

    Well that clears up at least one thing - that you aren't the only dumbass in your family. I hope you are aware that you can't sue an IP address. In order to turn an IP address into a person you are going to need a court order for that person's ISP. Let us all know when your lawyer family...

    DSL Inferior to Cable?

    Very well said. Even within a single company (ex: Comcast) service quality can vary by area. BroadbandReports.com is a great place to find reviews and actual speed tests from folks in your geographic area. Oh yea, almost forgot, FIOS rocks.

    Parallel ports in modern (new) pc's

    You haven't seen a laptop without a parallel port?!? You aren't looking very hard. I can't remember the last time a Dell laptop had one. My current laptop doesn't even have a serial port, had to buy a USB to Serial dongle. Just checking Dell's site, the current Inspiron and XPS desktops...

    IB wireless login problems to tws

    Its possible to proxy or tunnel the traffic through a port that is allowed (say port 80, http) but the technical details of how to do that maybe too daunting. If you want to check if the ports are open do these telnet tests from a command (cmd.exe) prompt: telnet gw1.ibllc.com 4001 and...

    Desperate measures to try to save the United States Imploding Financial System

    If you interpret "generally" to mean the majority then this is a false premise and thus the whole article which builds from this premise is pointless. Most mortgages in the US are not "no recourse" loans. Do your own research.

    C++ ?

    I don't know if its still the case, but there used to be an option to statically link the libraries rather than dynamically linking them, thus no .DLL's required on the target machine. Of course the resulting exe is much larger....

    What's with these sequential trades today? It very unlike you from what I've seen in the past. Wouldn't you have been better off just leaving your original position and original stop alone (Long 20 @ 1269.50 / Initial sell stop 1255.50)?

    Limitations of the human brain in processing data. In the same vein, why does anyone need a chart? Why not just stream raw T&S data to your screen? Displaying one minute (or any time frame) bars in a chart is just a visual construct that imposes arbitrary structure on the real (tick) data.
