Anybody here trade 50 or more emini sp500 contracts?

Yeah...GC can be brutally thin. I am considering going back to trading 6E. From what I can see not as much slippage. Agree with ya on that trade. Was only a one lot...no big deal. Too bad gold is so thin as it is volatile enough each day for some nice set ups. But with crazy slippage I can't...

Anybody here trade 50 or more emini sp500 contracts?

I have had bad slippage on everything from a 1 lot to a 15 lot. I had a ridiculous fill last week. Was trying to buy some at a price with a limit...got only one lot. Then the mkt went my way. I cancelled the rest and put a stop well away from my entry. The mkt eventually turned and hit the...

Anybody here trade 50 or more emini sp500 contracts?

Yeah...gold can be brutal. The last few weeks I have had some real bad slippage on trades in GC. I use stops so of course it's going to happen. But have had 1.50-2.00 slippage over the last few weeks. And these trades are not at highs or lows.....are right in the middle of the pit range. I could...

You guys think the slippage in currencies is bad.......trade gold. You will appreciate your 2-3 tick slippage on "bad fills".

    New York City prop firms

I think when it comes to hiring quants, programmers, and analysts then going after Ivy League/Top schools is definitely the way to go. But trading....not as much. You really need to find people who have handled adversity in their life, dealt with stressful times,etc........see how they...

    New York City prop firms

Mav is 100% right. Unfortunately to get into the trading world during these times is beyond tough unless you have experience. Firms look at a 22 yr old as a recent grad as someone with no experience..even if they say they have experience. At that age it's either a degree from a good school or a...

    SERIES 56 News

I find it almost impossible that they are going to make all CBSX traders pass this test in a month. When the Series 55 came out we had 2 yrs to pass the test. They probably posted it Aug 12, 2012 ...... They are also not going to have traders take a test where the trader has to "figure out"...

Best place to begin your trading career NYC, Chicago, Northern NJ, Stamford CT

Hey Mav, Will email ya about them. Met with them when they were a legit 700 million dollar fund, and later when they became a "prop trading firm". Gotta run out but will email ya later when I get back. They were a very legit fund until Summer 2008.....then......

I replied to this guy, but me gets the feeling that he's some failed trader who comes on this site to stir up shit because he can't trade and is jealous of those who do succeed.

Best place to begin your trading career NYC, Chicago, Northern NJ, Stamford CT

Newsflash EMG......there are plenty of bullshit chop/shop firms in NYC,Chicago,NJ....etc. I have traded in all those areas and Florida. The bullshit firms that advertise in Florida are mostly through craigslist and aren't located there. One of the worst in florida was an FX firm named...

Why would any business in Illinois not consider relocating to Texas

You make good points...but need to address the EMR part. That is the dealbreaker. Maybe you could trade him to Long island for a dozen loud whiney complaining housewives. Seems like a fair trade.

    The Surf Report--part 2

Congrats on the marriage Surf....I think....:) I went down that road once...but my ex hit a sell stop a year into the marriage. Thank god I had a stop in. I suggest taking all of your wedding loot and investing it in Dunn's WMA program. Have a good one amigo.

    The Surf Report--part 2

But when adding to a winner there is a much better chance of the position continuing in that direction vs averaging down as the mkt is going against you. In one case price action is telling you that you are right, and in the other it is telling you that you are wrong. Which side of that equation...

    The Surf Report--part 2

Surf......you trash the TA guys saying that past price action has basically no correlation with future price movement.....but then say part of your analysis is based on what happened the first day of fed meetings in the past...implying that what happened back then correlates to what's gonna...

    The Surf Report--part 2

Nice......I was at the Rangers/Detroit game at Madison Square Garden when Probert and Domi had their epic battle. I have never seen such a buzz in an arena before. They stepped onto the ice 2 min into the game for a faceoff and the place went berserk. I remember The NY Daily News had a tale of...

Questions a new trader should ask

The main problem with this "strategy" is you always end up with much bigger positions that are against you. The ones that work right away (which are usually the best trades) end up being tiny compared to the ones that are averaged down and losers. Then the one trade that never comes back...

On Don Bright & his trading methods

I remember that very well. I have a buddy whose firm got absolutely obliterated. They lost a crazy amount of money.....They basically lost 7 months of work in a few day period. I just cant imagine trading a strategy that can put you in a position to lose 6 months of work in a few day period.
